Mysteries Well, I Just Don't Know What to Make of THIS

The lovely lady is very pretty, as you can see, and she is certainly very stylishly dressed — down to the nice umbrella.
But what has she done with her dress? Or her pants? Or ... well, anything, really.
Look away, children! This is not meant for you.
There's nothing on the back to tell me who, what, when, where, or why. But if this is somebody's mother, well, they have some explaining to do.

Looks like a day of shopping and a happy lady, at some swanky hotel. She is just showing off the "goods" (if you know what I mean!) and looks like a soldier's cap on her head ... so, I guess a night on the town? Sometime during the '40s. Oh well, it's not my mom, she never had blonde hair, so it must be someone else's mom ... does that mean we can make lewd comments?

This is the second photo of a half-naked blonde lady in less than a month that just happened to fall out of a book that Vance got at an estate sale. Hmmmm.
Julie, you ought to see how many photographs like this fall out of my PANTS! Okay, maybe you shouldn't.
Of course, I don't bother posting all the BORING stuff that people use as bookmarks. But to keep things balanced a bit, and for your own personal enjoyment, the next time a photo of a half-nekked MAN tumbles out of one of my books, I'll either post it here, or email it to you.
Bless her heart. My guess is she either already had, or was about to, show her gratitude to whoever her benefactor was. If this were my mother, the only explaining I'd have to do is how I managed to avoid inheriting the good-looking gene from her.

By the way, Awesome, I initially had the same thought myself. But after close inspection, I thought, no, something is wrong. This actually looks like a room full of girls hamming it up. I kind of think it may be girls changing for Cotton Carnival or some such grand event acting silly. That there are about a billion girl things and not one single man item reminds me of such tomfoolery as my friends and I have had on girl trips. Hopefully one of my pictures in my skivvies won't fall out of one of Vance's finds ;)
I think I agree with Julie ... the umbrella and the pennant she looks like she is waving seems like some messing-around girl fun rather than anything more strange/interesting! I think this is the olden-days version of about half the teenage female profile pics on Facebook these days! (err ... not that I browse for teenage girls you understand ...)
