Angie Kirkpatrick, owner of the The Kitchen in East Memphis, announced Sunday that the restaurant is now closed.

From the email:

With regret I announce that today was the last day of The Kitchen being in business. I thank those of you who were great customers for your support but alas there just were not enough of you.

Well, this explains why we couldn't get in last night. Boo.

This is sad, especially after hearing the news about Jarrett's closing Thursday night.

They weren't open very long, were they?

Maybe they could have used a bit more publicity. My wife works on the other side of Brookhaven Circle and she never even heard about the place until I told her. When you open a retaurant, one of the easiest things to do is hit up all your business neighbors, let them know you're open.

Sad. I didn't get a chance to try it.
