Greatest News Ever ... If You Like Walgreens and Beer

I had noticed the cleared shelves in the cooler section at Walgreens some time last week and had assumed that it had to do with the announcement that the company was planning on stocking fresh foods.
That may be yet to come. What is happening now is that beer is back.
The chain drugstore had stopped selling beer about 15 years ago. They announced last spring they would be bringing it back to boost sales.
I took the picture above at the Walgreens on Union near the medical center. The shelves were still mostly empty, so it's hard to judge the selection. What was there, though, was domestic and bleh.
