When working on our Blunt Assessment cover story on medical marijuana, we’d thought it’d be fun to conduct an informal poll on favorite dishes to eat while under the influence. Responses came flooding in, so we pared the list down to the top 20. These are listed in no particular order.

1. Barbecue tofu nachos at R.P. Tracks
2. Avalanche at Kooky Canuck (18 scoops of ice cream with toppings)
3. Mozzarella sticks at the Young Avenue Deli
4. Hot fudge pie at Westy’s
5. Cheeseburger at Jack Pirtle’s
6. Roasted peanuts from the Peanut Shop
7. Donuts from Gibson’s Donuts
8. Fried chicken from Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken
9. Any sub from the Super Submarine Sandwich Shop (conveniently located next door to smoke shop Whatever on Highland)
10. Burgers from Krystal
11. The $4.99 all-you-can-eat buffet at Pho Hoa Binh
12. Sweet potato fries at Fresh Slices
13. Any meat served churrascaria-style at Texas De Brazil
14. Homemade butter cookies from Makeda’s Cookies
15. Lava rolls from Big Ono Bake Shop
16. Poutine from Kooky Canuck (yes, they made the list twice, but come on — fries covered with cheese and gravy? Total stoner food.)
17. Fried green tomatoes at B.B. King’s (served with caramelized onion marmalade, fresh herb cream cheese, strawberry jelly and basil oil!)
18. Homemade potato chips at Central BBQ
19. Deep-fried hamburger from Dyer’s
20. Sushi from the BP gas station at Ridgeway and Poplar
