Today, a couple of coworkers and I stopped by the Rumba Room on South Main for lunch.
To start, we sampled the guacamole and the Margarita Dip. (Both dips: $4.)
The jalapenos in the guacamole gave it a nice kick, and there was just the right amount of cilantro.
The Margarita Dip is an indulgence — melted cheese, ground beef, and pico de gallo. Thumbs up for this one.
Hannah ordered the crispy corn tortilla tacos with grilled chicken ($8).
The tortillas were deep-fried and beautifully golden.
Greg and I both opted for the burrito lunch special ($7). I got the veggie, he went for the beef (though next time he said he was going to try the chorizo con papas).
We all agreed everything was good. Plus, the servings more than generous, with enough left over for a second taste at dinner.
Also on the menu: fish tacos ($10); taquitos ($7); and Pork Chop a la Rumba ($11).
There are not a lot of vegetarian offerings on the menu, but our server said that vegetarian dishes can be made to-order.
Rumba Room is open for lunch 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.
