A Visit to Bar None

It was a Dark & Stormy night, and ...

And ... that's it.

On my first visit to Bar None, I ordered the Dark & Stormy ($6). Made with Goslings rum and ginger beer, it is both spicy and sweet.

This is a serious drink, made for sipping and just the thing for taking your time and taking in the cozy ambience of the place and sampling the bar's generous menu.

Among the favorites: the baked brie en croute ($11), a savory and sweet delight served with a compote made of strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, and the olive-topped hummus ($7), which was straight-forward and delicious. Chef Antony Field divulged the secret to his hummus: He forgoes the tahini and adds a splash of champagne vinegar.
