On Sunday, July 10th, Vh1 debuts its latest reality series Famous Food, in which celebrities compete to run a restaurant. Among the competitors is Memphis' own Juicy J and DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia.
The others are Heidi Montag of The Hills, Danielle Staub of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Ashley Dupre, "the former NY Governor's Scandal-Girl," Vincent Pastore of The Sopranos, and Jake Pavelka of The Bachelor.
The show sounds vaguely similar to the one DJ Paul and Juicy J were shopping around when I did this Q&A with them two years ago.
From that interview:
Is it true you're pitching a reality cooking show?
Yes, we are. It's called Cookin' Ain't Easy. What's the concept?
It's about Three 6 Mafia and friends trying to be chefs. Cooking isn't as easy as it looks on TV! lol.
Takeaway quote from the preview clip: "If you can run a rap group full of guys from prison, you can run a restaurant.
