Folks love Lavoro's, the Italian restaurant on Summer in Bartlett.
I'm guessing that one reason is that it is both comfortable and relentlessly cheery (cartoon cooks, bright colors, big signs shouting pizza and ices, etc.)
I stopped by on a Saturday around 3 p.m. for lunch-dinner (lunner?).
Lavoro's has all the basics covered — lasagna, spaghetti, pizza, ravioli. They also have an extensive selection of paninis, a generous options for vegetarians, and dishes such as the Elvis (a pizza with chicken, bacon, and barbecue sauce) and the Sinatra (a panini with roast beef, provolone, and house dressing).
I opted for the baked ziti ($11.50), which came with bread and salad.
Nothing out of the ordinary here, but I'm more than satisfied with a nice plate of pasta, sauce with melted cheese. I look forward to going back and trying out more dishes.
