Revival Southern Food Truck

Posted by Susan Ellis on Mon, Jan 23, 2012 at 11:35 AM

Finally got lunch from the Revival Southern Food Company Truck

The day was too chilly to be ideal for a food truck visit. That said, I can't wait to go back.

I really enjoyed the veggie tacos (a great Asian slaw spiked with Sriracha mayo, $7). A coworker had the Derby Dog ($7) topped with everything. The sides were good as well: shoestring fries and stewed cabbage.

The menu changes daily, but one item that frequently appears is the Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding ($3.50). Hannah declared it "absurdly decadent," which is true enough and then some.

Read more about the Revival Food Truck in this week's Food News column, in the issue hitting the stands Wednesday.

I got the Memphis Dawg which was beyond excellent.

A co-worker sampled the tacos al pastor and highly recommended them.

A bit more information on where I might find these elusive food trucks and when would be greatly appreciated. I never seem to be able to actually find them!

I had had the pulled chicken sliders with goat cheese. It was amazing. Better food than a lot of restaurants downtown and it was only 8 bucks.

Megan - You can get their location daily on their website: www.revivalsouthernfood.com. They also update location via Facebook and Twitter.

Tried the Korean bbq tacos. They were great, but 9.50 for 2 tacos and a bowl of cabbage is way too much. Los Tortugas isn't that high.

This is why I hate working in Southwind - there's nowhere cool to eat.
