The Brooks' rotunda was jam-packed last night for the Farmer Mixer, an event to kick off the museum's Farmers Market film series beginning Saturday, March 3rd.

The idea for the mixer was to bring farmers, locavores, foodies, etc., together. The draw was the menu prepared by the Brushmark's Wally Joe and Andrew Adams and Justin Fox Burks (pictured at top), the Chubby Vegetarian.

The food ... wow!

Check out this "Southern Coverlet" cake.

This is a joconde-printed cake that was topped with beets, granola, and feta.

These pretty eggshells were filled a goat cheese cake and pepper jelly.

Really fun were what I would call taste "surprises" — a dumpling filled with kimchee, Indian flavors atop a chip for the Indian Nachos.

One of my favorite dishes was the Scotch egg — a deep-fried delicacy that oozed yolk when halved. But, my favorite favorite was the the pickled vegetables and fresh mozzarella.

When they say "fresh," they aren't kidding. The cheese was made by individual portion at the table by Adams (pictured above). The dish contained the most perfectly prepared Brussels sprout I've ever eaten.
