A bake sale is being held on Saturday, June 23rd, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., to raise funds for Shannon Parker, a victim of a hit-and-run.

On Sunday, May 20th, Shannon Parker and Kat Solaas were hit by a car while crossing the street in Cooper-Young. Parker tried to push Solaas out of the path of the vehicle and sustained multiple injuries, including a fractured pelvis and is receiving treatment at the Med. Solaas broke her ankle. Parker has no insurance.

The bake sale is being organized by Parker and Solaas' fellow members of Colonial Park United Methodist Church, 5330 Park.

Organizers are currently reaching out to commercial bakeries and home bakers to provide items to sell.

Those interested in providing baked goods or volunteering at the sale, should go to the event's Facebook page for more information.

The bake sale is just one of the efforts being planned to help Parker. Others include a blood drive and a benefit concert. Information is at the Shannon Parker's Support Page on Facebook.
