$5 Cover, Craig Brewer's MTV web/television series on the Memphis music scene, has its world premiere this Thursday with four screenings at Malco's Paradiso Theater.
But before that, there are a couple of opening acts tonight and Tuesday night at Studio on the Square.
Tonight, a selection of the Flipside Memphis documentaries — mini films from the Live From Memphis crew that examine assorted Memphis cultural topics — will screen at 7 p.m. at Studio.
Tomorrow night, $5 Cover Amplified, a visually rich series of profile documentaries on the real lives of $5 Cover stars will screen at 7 p.m. The Amplified series was produced by a documentary team led by local photographer/filmmaker Alan Spearman, co-director of the Indie Memphis award-winning film Nobody.
Tickets for the Flipside and Amplified screenings will be available starting at 3 p.m. today and tomorrow at the Studio on the Square box office. Tickets for the $5 Cover premiere Thursday are available via IndieMemphis.com. As of this writing, the 7, 7:15, and 9:30 p.m. screenings were all sold out, but some tickets remained for the 9:45 screening. All screenings this week are benefits for Indie Memphis.
