This weekend (Friday night in particular) is incredibly loaded with great live music options, so here's a rundown of the best of what's going on in the local clubs and venues for the next couple of days:

Friday, March 11

Davila 666, True Sons of Thunder and Tyler Keith & the Apostles
The Hi-Tone Cafe
9 p.m.
$10

For my money, the highlight of the weekend should be this dynamite triple-bill at the Hi-Tone headlined by Puerto Rican garage rockers (and Gonerfest 6 standouts) Davilla 666.

Haunted Houses, Kruxe, Vignettes, and Secret People
The Dairy
9 p.m.
free/donations

Emerging alternative showspace The Dairy (2010 Court Ave.) is really more of a co-op arthouse than a proper music venue, but that hasn't stopped the site from hosting some of the area's more intriguing, off-the-beaten-path rock shows as of late. This one should be no exception.

Cory Branan
The Daily Planet
9 p.m.

The quirky, enigmatic singer-songwriter (and former Memphian) Branan returns for a solo appearance at the newly revived U of M-area nightclub.

Saturday, March 12

Live From Memphis Music Video Showcase Afterparty
The Hi-Tone Cafe
9 p.m.
$10

A free bonus for those who previously attend the actual Music Video Showcase at Malco's Studio on the Square earlier that evening, this show boasts an eclectic mix of locals, from punk rock stalwarts Pezz to the strong, up-and-coming rapper Cities Aviv.

Wampa and Modern Slang
The Daily Planet
9 p.m.

The new blood of the local jam-rock scene.
