Jack White to Play New Daisy March 13th

Posted by Chris Herrington on Mon, Feb 13, 2012 at 5:40 PM

Jack White — of the White Stripes, Raconteurs, and Dead Weather — is going solo with the April 24th release of his album Blunderbuss. In anticipation of the album, White is playing his first set of shows as a solo headliner, and one will bring him to Memphis.

White will play the New Daisy Theatre on Tuesday, March 13th, the third of four announced solo dates — including March 10th in Chattanooga, March 12th in Birmingham, and March 15th in Tulsa.

Advanced general admission tickets are $33 and will go on sale Friday, February 17th. See the New Daisy's site for more purchasing info.

White, a Detroit native who has relocated to Nashville, has plenty of Memphis connections, having recorded the White Stripes' breakout 2001 album White Blood Cells at the former Easley-McCain Recording and having done post-production work on other projects at Ardent Studios.

Huge fan of him! AND of his new video for "Love Interruption." If you haven't seen it yet, you're missing out :)

Huge fan too. Terrible when the scalpers buy all the tickets in the first 10 minutes and jack the prices up to 150$ a ticket!!

They actually sold out in about 3 minutes. I was unable to even get it to pull up the screen to buy tickets. I called and complained. The lady would not tell me whether they had a limit on number of tickets per transaction. I was able to get tickets to the Chattanooga show.

Jack White has been my favorite musician since White Blood Cells. I am so disappointed that I couldn't get tickets. I think he would be pissed that scalpers scooped them all up and are now charging up to 6x the amount online. This needs to be fixed somehow, New Daisy. He finally comes to Memphis, and none of his real fans can afford to hear him play.
