While downtown Memphis was crawling with the undead for the Sixth Annual Memphis Zombie Massacre last Friday, we found some lively style-ites milling about South Main for the May Trolley Tour.
We spotted Kimberly at Abby Shoaf's art exhibition at the Russian Cultural Center. Kimberly is currently getting her masters at the Memphis Theological Seminary. "I guess I would describe my style as 'creative.' Things don't need to match, but they do need to have a flow," she said. And with Nine West shoes, Express shorts, and an Old Navy top, she added, "You don't have to spend a lot to look like you have a lot. That's the whole creative part."Back out on the street, we bumped into Sutton who was wearing a stunning printed maxi dress from Ann Taylor Loft, sandals by Born, and earrings from the nearby boutique, Hoot + Louise.

She has a sort of hipster-meets-young-professional style, a mix of affordable casual wear and some more expensive items. For instance, her black patent sandals were a last-minute Payless purchase in New Orleans (the kind of slapdash style we wish we could get away with) and her simple black dress is from T.J. Maxx. (It's worth noting she at no point referred to herself as a "Maxxinista.")
The light green clutch is Hobo International and the pièce de résistance, a statement necklace that ties the whole outfit together, is from Anthropologie. Outside of Alex Paulus' art show at Leadership Memphis, we spotted a pair of amazing coiffures, and although only one of the bouffant babes (Kittie) was willing to be photographed, her friend Adam was willing to step in and model alongside her. When asked about her style, Kittie said simply, "I try to look like a trashy secretary at all times." And if you were coveting Adam's RAP t-shirt, you'll be disappointed to know that it's a one-of-a-kind custom-made tee from his friend Ben.But back to the bouffants. The scarf! The volume! The messy pieces falling around her face! We love everything about this hair. What's Kittie's secret? "Lots and lots of back-combing and hairspray." And we love everything about these cat earrings and sparkly fingernails.
