Tale of Two Cities

Posted By on Mon, Apr 17, 2006 at 4:00 AM

Just as the Commercial Appeal has gotten into the rhythm of producing different editions for different parts of town, The New York Times has announced it's re-doing its suburban sections, too. It seems the Times’ New Jersey, Connecticut, Long Island, and Westchester editions — once fairly separate entities — will share much of the same content rather than news specific to their particular areas. And instead of the traditional news fare, the sections will emphasize lifestyle trends. We guess the theory is that, whether you live in suburban Memphis or suburban New York, all you really care about is decorating, gardening, and community news.
