Raycom Media and WMC TV-5 announced that Tracey Rogers will be joining Action News 5 as news director. Rogers comes to WMC from WAFF-TV, Raycom Media’s station in Huntsville, Alabama.

Rogers was raised in Jackson, Tennessee, and graduated from North Side High School.

”I still have lots of family who live in West Tennessee, so this will be a homecoming of sorts for me,” said Rogers.

Rogers spent the first 12 years of her career in Nashville, Tennessee where she worked for WSMV (NBC), WTVF (CBS) and served as Assistant News Director at WKRN (ABC). She spent the last 6 years as News Director at WAFF-TV where she worked with WMC-TV5 General Manager Lee Meredith.

Meredith cited Rogers' work in the Huntsville area with a community wide food drive, the Crime Stoppers program, and outreach efforts to support military families. Meredith also described Rogers as an inclusive leader who happens to have a passion for weather.

Rogers attended Middle Tennessee State University and earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
