House of Mews Needs House

Posted on Wed, Feb 7, 2007 at 4:00 AM

Feeling a little feral? Or know a cat that is? You can get that critter spayed or neutered for FREE during the Animal Protection Association’s “Feral Cat February.” That includes a 3-year rabies shot. Oh, the feline will still be feral but at least it won’t reproduce more wild things. Also, in conjunction with Valentine’s Day, you can donate $25 in honor of your sweet; it will be used as a feral spay/neuter sponsorship anytime throughout the year. Certainly a unique alternative to roses and chocolates. For more information, call 324-3202. The website is www.spaymemphis.com.

And while we’re talking cats, the House of Mews, that venerable feline rescue group that has graced Cooper-Young for more than a decade, is still looking for a new home, preferably a smaller space but one that still boasts big front windows so the cats can bask in the sun — and see and be seen. To find out how you can help, visit the House of Mews Web site.
