Gay-friendly License Plates for Tennessee?

Posted by on Sat, Feb 17, 2007 at 4:00 AM

Two state legislators have proposed a bill that would establish a license plate benefiting the Tennessee Equality Project (TEP), an organization that promotes equality for the state's gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered population.

Representative Beverly Marrero of Memphis and interim senator Shea Flinn of Memphis are co-sponsoring the bill.

If passed, specialty license plates bearing the TEP logo would become available to motorists so long as 1,000 or more pre-orders are placed within a year.
