The Flyer received the following news release from Mayor Pro Tem Myron Lowery this morning:

In a meeting last night at City Hall, Former City Attorney Elbert Jefferson submitted a second, and final, resignation letter to Memphis Mayor Pro Tem Myron Lowery.

At that time, he also turned in his key card, keys to his city vehicle and laptop computer.

Mr. Jefferson verbally expressed that he will not return to his office, and made arrangements for any personal belongings to be delivered to him.

Mayor Lowery will comment on Mr. Jefferson’s resignation at a news conference ...

Stay tuned for updates as warranted.
