Movies This Week

There are lots of high-profile movies opening this holiday week, and Flyer film critics can help guide you through them: Chris Herrington recommends Oscar favorite Up in the Air, with minor reservations, but thinks Nine, the movie about the Broadway musical about the movie (Fellini's 8 1/2) is a bomb. Greg Akers is pleasantly surprised by the non-traditional Sherlock Holmes, which turns the literary detective into an action hero. And Hannah Sayle is conflicted about the high-toned rom-com It's Complicated.
