10 Super-Scary Food Images from the Hungry Memphis Vault

Too much flash for this appetizer at eighty3. (A CLAP OF THUNDER SOUNDS!)
Be very, very afraid of the dark. This picture was taken during a Christmas dinner party at Cafe Society.
My specialty is the blurred image. The victim -- aka whatever this dish was -- has been forgotten.
Also blurry ... but this image holds an additional and aesthetic horror. This bright-yellow liquid is turkey gravy, people! Scream!
Scream!!
Though these coolers at Cash Saver Cost Plus Food Outlet now contain craft beer, oldtimers still whisper about the cheese-puff epidemic.
Some of the most unsettling things are those that remain unexplained ... like this bag of bread hanging from a nail on a streetpost near Mendenhall.
A lone okra pod in the parking lot of the Hop-in store at Poplar, near Perkins. That's some freaky X-Files shit.
Scream!!! This was taken at Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen, so I'm sure it was delish!
Scream!!!! Easily one of the most unappetizing images I've taken for Hungry Memphis. This commentary from the original post: "Mike got the open-faced turkey sandwich ($8.95). Mike generally only eats about half his lunch. On this day, he cleaned the plate. I'll spare you the photo ... the flash on the pink turkey meat ... shudder."
