the link above is incorrect.... ",org", ain't gonna get it.
I saw this exhibit last week and liked it very much. There were 3 notable portraits-Queen Elizabeth I when she was probably mid 30s, her father Henry VIII as a young man of maybe 20 or so, and his son, Edward, by Jane Seymour, as a toddler. There are some beautiful landscapes and portraits of some lesser known nobles.
While there I went to the greenhouse to see the amaryllis. So beautiful!
The picture accompanying this article is not from the Berger collection. It is from a local artist who had several pieces similar to this shown. I didn't care for it. Hated the ship hulls decoupaged with the Louis Vuitton logos.
This event has been cancelled and rescheduled for March 22, 2:00-4:00 p.m.

A fun event for a great cause. It's about time we begin to award those who have stood up for and invested in our beloved Midtown.
Great idea, I look forward to the event
The Dixon is my very favorite Memphis Art Gallery. They get some wonderful exhibits and I am looking forward to seeing this one! (they have beautiful gardens too.)
Memphis music - a dead guy (or two) and one gettin' mighty close. You do have to admire Jerry's longevity.
The House of Mtenzi is a museum of the history of Memphis Performing Arts. It also serves as a venue for up and coming performers.
This program is no longer available.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!!!!! This was nothing but a grade school talent show! The people hosting the show got to fighting on the stage and broke down all the equipment and LEFT!!!!!!! Once the fighting took place I took my children and RAN! I bought 3 VIP tickets and 2 $35 tickets so needless to say I will be fighting to get my money back. The VIP tickets were supposed to be backstage passes to see the group and take photos, but I don't, even believe they were supposed to perform in the first place. I am so disappointed, but not as much as my girls were. Sad excuse for a concert. Shame on you..... There were a lot of angry parents and very unhappy children.
Do not pay attention to these pea brained individuals .Mr.Muhammad Ziyad and the Miss Black Memphis Pageant has done a lot of great things for a lot of great people.
He will help you when nobody will. People like these slanderers has no place to go and nothing to do but to try and slander the good name of a great man and a great organization....... But G-d is with Mr. Muhammad Ziyad. Which is why he continues to crown black queens on into the 21st Century....... While these negative flesh eating slanderers do nothing but sit on the side lines and is not helping our people in any way shape or form.......BEWARE OF THEM.
I think this is on JANUARY 16
There has been a handful of disgruntled ghetto minded youngladies that has nothing to do but slander a great organization. Mr.Ziyad has given opportunities to many young
women who have apreciated his input. He has made available to black women over 2 million dollars in educational scholarships in the last 30 years . He has given away over 15 mink coats to 15 of the 32 winners of his pageant as well as other impeccable gifts such as VIP weekends at Goldstrike, HORSESHOE, The Sheraton and Bally's Casino Hotel, memberships to Luxury Spas in town, years supply of various name brand cosmetics and hair products. And has been supported by ICE TEA, Mr.and Mrs.Muhammad Ali who has attended several of his pageants. World Tennis Champion ,Venus Williams and her father. Lisa Marie and Priscilla Presley, Jesse Jackson, Michael Jordan with documentation and photographs to back this up.As well as many many other international celebrities... And his is the only pageant in America that has given a car away to his winner. As of this day December 10th,2014, Mr.Muhammad Ziyad continues to entertain impeccable support from TOP celebrities ,politcians world champions and stars through out the nation including world movie Producer, Mr.Steven Seagal....... These slanders are a group of slanders that will never be able to stop a great man or a great show. People like these slanders will come into your business and try to tell you what to do as they tried to do Mr.Ziyad. And when they don't succeed , they make it their life's goal to slander your name ...as they do Mr.Ziyad...all over the city of Memphis. Beware of people like this... Mr.Ziyad continues to do great work... and continues to enjoy the support of TOP name people and organizations thru out Memphis and the nation. For more information call the Pageant at 901.690.9044
If Scrooge was a Brother was phenomenal!!!!! The entire cast was on point. This is a tear jerker but just when the tear is about to fall they will make you laugh and then take you to Christ. The spin they put on it was great it showed the real life struggles of the black family. This is a must see.
Glad to see Joyce. What a singer and lady!
We visited the downtown location and it was great so decided to also visit the Winchester location. What a horrible experience! There is a big guy that cooks that has the worst attitude and was totally disrespectful me and my grandson. When we arrived he was watching a show that was screaming profanity and several customers left. A nice man asked to change the TV and the cook came out and said "give me my remote...the customers don't run this store!" Well my family, friends and I will never visit that location again! The owner needs to talk to him before he has a Grand Closing!
Brian Lee Howell is one of the worst Elvis impersonators I think I have ever heard or seen. REGmemphis carries him as one of their clients, so considering their poor taste for talent, this fellow definitely needs to keep his day job!!!
