Re: “James Govan & the Boogie Blues Band

It was a great and pleasant surprise exit from Rio de Janeiro to find this wonderful site! That impressive sound of that band! It made me return to the site on another trip. The food is also excellent.I miss and I plan to return, of course! Will do that shortly.

We visited the Tim Rowland show on Satuday, March 3, 2012. This was our first show and first time seeing Mr. Rowland. I have to say without comparing Mr. Rowland to anyone else he put on a really good show. I just wish he would have dressed for the show. His singing was great and he made my Mom feel really really special and to me that is worth more than anything! During one of his songs he actually came down off stage and went over to her and put a lei around her neck. On another song, he gave her a teddy bear. The most emotional, tear jerking, priceless thing Mr. Rowland did for my Mom was to sing, "My Way" directly to her! My Way is my Mom's favorite Elvis song ever. That brought tears to my Mom's eyes when he did this. I can't Thank Tim Rowland enough for making my Mom's night. You see my Mom has terminal cancer and visiting Graceland was the one and only wish she wanted to do. Staying for the Tim Rowland show and what he did for her just put the trip over the top for my Mom. That alone is worth gold! Thank you Tom Rowland for making my Mom's trip just that much more special!

Re: “Pokey LaFarge and The South City Three with The Dirt Daubers

Saw Pokey in Oxford last fall. He knows how to entertain people which some acts never get the hang of.

I attended his show from out of town and really had a good time. I thought he put on a wonderful show! The karaoke segment was also good. Lots of talented people singing. Great entertainment!!!

Re: “Wind Down Wednesday with radio host Thaddeus Matthews, Queen Ann Hines, The Quiet Storm Band

I find it sad that in a city so steeped in the history of true leaders like MLK Jr., more of the community (black or otherwise) would not storm this station and demand this coward's resignation. Consider the outrage caused by Don Imus' comments. A double standard is being built that will only serve to tarnish the memory of those who would dedicate their lives to bringing everyone together. Boycott anyone who employs this racist until he fades back to being the nobody he deserves to be.

Re: “Wind Down Wednesday with radio host Thaddeus Matthews, Queen Ann Hines, The Quiet Storm Band

I guess it is okay if you are a liberal black to call a conservative, black, CHRISTIAN, LADY a "curly haired nigga" and "stupid" and etc. But don't dare call a spade a spade. I know. I did it and the injured (lol) party, squealed like a stuck pig and squealed and squealed until facebook took down my post there about this upstanding member of the black liberal media. It seems to me that IF (QUALIFIER, IF) anyone is a "curly haired nigga" and "stupid" member of the black community it would be the name callER and not the callEE!!! Just trying to be logical. That is all. Why do you think it is that the liberal blacks and liberal media and liberal establishment THINK that for one to be AUTHENTICALLY BLACK, they must be a liberal??? Why are the likes of Herman Cain, Allen West, Clarence Thomas and others of their QUALITY, NOT authentic blacks??? Why is Barry Soetoro, a/k/a Barack Obama a/k/a numerous other names, who is half white and un-American an authentic black, when REAL 100% black conservative Americans are not!!! At least in a liberal's mind! Why is that. Ignorance, racism and greed!!! That is why!!!! There it is!!

Re: “Wind Down Wednesday with radio host Thaddeus Matthews, Queen Ann Hines, The Quiet Storm Band

Hello black community. You no longer have to vote Democrat. Thought this party stands behind the community? Take a look at the KKK history..were they democrats?(former deceased senator Robert Byrd) Politicians will do every thing imaginable to get a minority vote. Basically they just wanted votes for many years. We see this now with the latino vote. I mean is there a fence built? We are living in a different day and age where opportunities abound for many. When you were born no one said you had to be a Democrat if you were black. Surely you can agree on some conservative issues like the importance of family, supporting the constitution, smaller government etc... I am white and I feel that i am an objective person. What is important to me is that I have the right to think and choose for myself. People should not be discriminated against because of skin color. This DJ seems to perpetuate racism. We are all never going to agree on political issues. That's what makes this country great. Because we can make up our own minds. Spewing this brand of of hatred only divides people. I respect your right to choose to be a Democrat but not based solely on the fact because youre black. Would it be right to say all black people eat fried chicken and watermelon and they are all democrats?(sterotyping) If we all thought the same way we wouldn'nt be living in a democracy. Think for yourself. Open your mind.

Re: “Wind Down Wednesday with radio host Thaddeus Matthews, Queen Ann Hines, The Quiet Storm Band

Fucking nigger asshole just what the world needs is another dumb nigger with a microphone. Calling another black women (see the difference here) that works hard to represent the people of her district a curly head nigger. What the hell is wrong with black people in this country? It's no wonder you lead the country in going to jail and raising kids without fathers. Too many dumb niggers like this guy run around in this country. When will you all stand up and shout down niggers like this man. He is bad for your race and he is bad for America.
