Re: “Mark Allen

For a man, a guitar and a microphone to better entertain a group of well read, travelled and schooled adults, I have not better seen it in Cooper-Young before! Mark Allen is an unpresumed relaxed talent sharing his bag of goods with an unsuspecting audience. Congrats Miss Burns, you hit a home run tonight!

Re: “John Mayer Live with Phillip Phillips

So, lessee.... first he wanted to be a pop star, then a Curtis Mayfield/R&B wannabe, later a rock power trio guitar slinger, and lately he's banking on the Nouveau Country thang. Which John Mayer will show up at this show...? I have no idea, and don't care, as I won't be there.

Re: “Passport: Journey to the Maasai Mara

Had such a great time last year and can't WAIT for this year! So much fun and alot of cool things going on with this organization. Last year I got all my christmas shopping done, while in a cocktail dress AND enjoying great food, drinks and jams.

Re: “Tawnee Cowan Fund-raiser

Stay far away from her. I do not know why this woman is free to walk the streets. She is sick in the head and tries to destroy people and their lives. It's not jus me saying this. Google her and its the same thing over and over for years all across the USA!

Re: “The Apache Relay and Johnathan Rice

My first time at Proud Larry's, great venue! My only complaint is that when the set was over, they immediately turned the house lights on as though to say "No encore for you, get out!"

Re: “Gary Hardy and The Memphis 2

Memphis visitors, this is THE PLACE to go for the best food in Memphis! Order the Beale Street plate that has pork ribs, more catfish fillets, and all the trimmings. I am a chow hound, but I could not finish the plate. We drove from Corpus Christi, Tx to Memphis to tour Graceland, Sun Records, and eat lots of the famous Memphis food. I studied all the Memphis restaurants on my computer; and Corky's was rated #1, and we did try it. It was nothing compared to Blues City Café. We ate at the Rendezvous and other famous or well known restaurants, and I promise that the Blues City Café is the best. Blues City Café is located across the street from B.B. King's place and it is an elbows on the table, no frills kind of place--but the food is fantastic!
There is a bar/club attached and the Gary Hardy band was playing. His show consists of a music history of Memphis and he has a Q&A format. However, if you answer a question he is rude and insulting. If your answer it wrong, he screams "You are stupid as hell!" He looks unwashed, dirty, and homeless and it appears that alcohol and drugs destroyed any and all talent that he might have once possessed. There is no cover charge; and even for free, it is not worth it. Gary Hardy is a loser and should be avoided. Other nights of the week there are some entertaining bands at this club.

Re: “Levitt Shell 2013 Concert Music Series

I see someone beat me to it - The Patti Griffin/Mavis Staples show at the Levitt Shell is our annual benefit concert. It is not free! It is a reasonable $25 in advance, $35 at the gate. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Levitt Shell website. Also, for this show only, patrons cannot bring in outside food, so no coolers!

Re: “Levitt Shell 2013 Concert Music Series

Flyer, you have this WRONG! Patti Griffin with Mavis Staples is NOT one of the free concerts!! Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the gate.
