Kick off the dog days of summer in style and raise a glass to the Oregon Zoo. Bring your pack to sample artisan beer and cider from more than 60 regional breweries. Shake a tail feather to the premier party sounds of Cool-Ade on the concert main stage and DJ Angry Little Man.
Fun show with lots of energy, great food and for a really good cause.
The Sip Around the World is my favorite event of the year but I am disappointed in the list of wineries participating this year as well as last year. There used to be more well known wineries participating in the past so I wonder why more have chosen not to be a part of this worthy charity event. Unless this changes I will probably not attend in the future.
And I forgot to rate the stars: at least four.
Joe your show was awesome, we were the ones from Indiana and saw your show on Sept 29 th. Your show made our trip so much better. We laughed and cried, and we are still talking about your show.
Memphis had a Hollywood-style world premiere of the dream child of Memphis own Julius Lewis: N-SECURE. It was a who's who of Memphis including the majority of the cast members. This is one of the first authentic movies that I have ever seen with a real taste of Memphis as a backdrop. I knew the street scenes, the restaurants, the office buildings, and many of the extras in the movie. Unlike the TV and other film projects based on Memphis but shot in New Orleans, Atlanta, etc.
Julius Lewis made sure he got as many scenes and names related to Memphis as he could down to the Stax jacket. I have never been so proud of Memphis since Isaac Hayes did 'SHAFT!'
N-Secure was really well cast and the acting was right on. The plot is one that many women can relate to. Fellows I am telling you now don't let these women see this movie and you don't get to check it out. This movie will be talked about and discussed all over the country. As a matter of fact, I think EVERYONE who is from Memphis or ever-lived in Memphis should check this film out.
On Friday, October 15 I am going to see this film again and I encourage ALL of my fellow Memphians to do the same. Let's make Friday, October 15 MEMPHIS FILM DAY! Let's help to make this a #1 movie the first week out so that we can show the world that MEMPHIS REPRESENTS!

parachutes put on a great show
It was a fun group of people, and Carrabba's has a great Happy Hour!
We saw Joe on Dec 26, 2009 and thoroughly enjoyed his show and all of the great stories he told and of course his singing. I would like to have Kim call me in regards to a purchase I made and would like a replacement. I have called and left messages several times and yet no call back. We live in Louisiana so we just can't drive back up there to fix the purchase. Thank you.
Errors in the bible. That's like making fun of a one-year-old child for not being able to talk.
The show was entertaining. Lyle has a very talented line-up of musicians. His backup singers, 3 dapper gentlemen, and talented, gritty, female singer, put on quite a show After a few sound glitches, they sounded great. Lyle Lovett's on-stage banter is also quite entertaining, though hard to hear at times - which brings up the only down side of the evening. There were groups of people congregating in the back of the room that insisted on talking through most of the show. We were seated toward the rear, center stage. The back two rows of our section also talked through most of the show. A few brave souls attempted to shush them, but were ignored. The staff of Minglewood Hall wisely moved their portable bars outside the room to the large outer hallway just before the show started to try to discourage this type of behavior, but failed to even attempt to move the loudmouths out there (where they would still be able to hear the music) where they could make noise to their hearts content. For God's sake people, go to a bar to drink and yell over the music.
