Re: “2016 VESTA Home Show

The homes were great. My mom, however did experience a fall on her way to our car on the property of the Vesta home show this year on 10/08/16. Something got stuck on her under her shoe and she fell and hit the ground. Two guys that were on a golf cart that worked on the property immediately stop their golf cart and jumped out to help her up. After we helped her up and asked if she was okay, we proceeded to look and see what made her fall. After searching, we saw a piece of wood stucking out of the ground. No, we did not report the incident, we just helped her up got her dusted off, I prayed over her and we left the property. However my mom did start experiencing some pain a couple of days later. She hit the ground prettyhard and as she ame down on her hand (tryig to stop her fall) and hi her back as she flipped over.I called to report the incident and was told by Lorrie that Don Glays, the executive director, would give us a call back. He did call back that same day. He asked questions about the incident and asked report it and we stated that we did not report it. We told him what happened and told him that the guys had helped my mom off the ground when they saw her fall. He said that he had spoken with one of the guys that helped her up. He also asked if my mom was retired or working or if she had been to the doctor. I told him that she was currently at the doctor as he and I were speaking. He stated that he would write up an incident report when he returned to the office on Monday morning which was yesterday (10/17/16). He also stated at the end of our conversation that let him know what the doctor prescribes orders for my mom and proceeded to give me his full name and his cell phone number. He stated that he hoped my mom felt better and that he was sorry that that had happened. I said that I would give him until about noon not yesterday to see if the email had come through. I decided to call him around 2:40 p.m. on yesterday October 17th 2016 because the email did not come through. When he answered I told him who I was and asked him if he had had a chance to send the incident report by email that he said that he would send to us. He said that he has not had a chance to send an incident report because he's been so busy with the Vesta home show and said that he would get it out to us within the next 10 days. Then he proceeded to ask me questions about if my mom was in distress or if she's having any issues as if he was giving me the run-around. I did speak to him that I felt as if he was giving us the runaround. He got really angry and started yelling and said that if we wanted to call a lawyer then that's what we should do. I stated to him that I was not looking to get a lawyer that we just needed an incident report for our records of what it happen. I asked if I could come to get the incident report any day before the 10 days and he stated that we could come anytime from before 10 a.m. on Tuesday through Thursday. I stated to him that that would not work for us and asked him if he could go ahead and get the incident report out to us by email before the 10 days. He began to rush me off the phone continuing to yell and saying that he had had another call coming in and that he had to go. I really feel that this was very unprofessional of him. I felt a little strange when he said that he would send the email when he first mentioned it the first time we talked to him. But I decided to go ahead and hope that he would send the email and do the incident report as he promised to do. My fmily and I go to the Vesta home show every year and we enjoy ourself every year. We will not be back ever again and we will be sure to let everyone know what has happened and the unprofessionalism that occurred from the executive director of this show. I do feel now that we need to call the lawyer because he got so out of whack about us just trying to get an incident report! My mom has bee hurting moe and more since her fall! We will never visit again!!!

Re: “Elvis Tribute Artist, Brian Lee Howell

This Brian Lee Howell looks the the retarded version of Elvis. Does Memphis actually endorse him? Elvis must have rolled over in his grave or something.

Re: “Great River Indoor Food Truck Festival

We were very disappointed to pay $5 to get in and to find that there were very few food trucks. We left and had lunch elsewhere. I feel sorry for anyone that drove very far.

Re: “Gone Cupcaking: Cupcake Decorating Roadshow

I bought tickets to the Jackson, TN show back in August. They cancelled that show and then rescheduled it for Halloween. And then they cancelled that class without telling me or anyone I know who was also signed up for it. When I wrote the to ask about it, I pretty much got a shrug and an offer to give me a refund. Here it is 6 weeks later and still no refund. It seems like this company is just ripping people off.

Re: “Slide Fest USA

At least they came to your town. They cancelled in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, removed their facebook page and promised refunds. That was the first of September. After seven contacts, we still have not received refunds. We have contacted the attorney general to file a complaint but dont see much coming out of it. You are correct. A real scam that should have to pay.

Re: “Slide Fest USA

This was an absolute scam. No one responded to complaints or calls regarding the slide not working. The fact that the slide dumped you, if you tried to go down, into the dirty pond water in the park. Gross. I am out of $130 and no way to reach anyone since they disabled the email and phone number we were given.

Do not trust Active.com services and the SlideFest group.

Re: “Elvis Tribute Artist, Brian Lee Howell

For a children's bday party, maybe, but not adult party. Bless his heart, he tries so hard, but he just doesn't have that Elvis persona in looks or in vocals. We kinda felt sorry for him at the gig.

Re: “Elvis Tribute Artist, Brian Lee Howell

Brian Lee Howell is one of the worst Elvis impersonators I think I have ever heard or seen. REGmemphis carries him as one of their clients, so considering their poor taste for talent, this fellow definitely needs to keep his day job!!!

Re: “Agricenter Farmers Market

I went to the pumpkin patch near the red barn where the nursery is today around 4:45 PM. The older women at the check-out seemed to be very upset that slaves were freed more than 100 years because she treated me like a 2nd class citizen. She didn't say hello like she did with the women in front of me and she asked that I put my card down so she could pick it right back up to swipe it. Then with my hand out waiting on my card back she tossed it on the counter I didnt even to get to use the ink pen that other customers used. She had to search for a pen that I could use when she had 3 next to check out. I should have known something was wrong being the only black couple there. I should have asked around on the chitlin circuit. She didn't look at my face or thank me, I had to remain nice so didn't upset my son. I'll be sure to return alone just to give her a piece of my mind.

Re: “9th Annual India Fest

I was blown away alright, blown away by how rude everyone was. My kids and I were pushed and shoved around, and when we waited in line 30 minutes for some dosai, the family at the booth kept letting their Indian friends in front of us. We let it slide twice, but at the third time, I told them that we were next, and they rudely told us to wait our turn. We walked away without our food. This is the last place I'd want to spend the day.

Re: “Lamaze Class

I have been trying to the instructor to call me back for 2 months! When I first called, her voice mail was full. I then called the receptionist and asked for another way to get in touch with her. I was told the only option I had was to wait until she cleared her voice messages to leave a message. She had no other means to contact the instructor and could not offer any further assistance. I finally got a chance to leave a message and it's been 2 months, she has not called me and my baby is due next month. I finally called Methodist and got an immediate response and entry into their class and I'm not even delivering there! St. Francis really cares about their patients, huh?
