All of these reviews are OLD. If you haven't been to Interim since Chef Dave Krog took the helm back in March2016, you've missed an exciting meal. He has raised the bar on creativity and flavor, especially the constantly changing fresh fish. All of the sauces/ stocks, dressings are house made by Dave and his team. Dave expects the best of his team and they deliver under his imagination and creativity. Give it a try if you've been away for a while, you will be well pleased. Don't pass up the desserts, French pastry Chef Franck Oysel is creative and extremely talented.

I have been a customer for years prior to the move on Madison. The last few times I visited was less than par for any restaurant. My recent visit was the worst. It was a bit after 11 PM Saturday night. The place is dingy, dark, and dirty. We found a beach towels soaking up a floor spill under our table. We moved to another table that needed to be wiped. I kept asking for a bar towel to wipe table, but the server was more interested in taking my initial drink order. I insisted on a towel and eventually got it clean enough to order. I ordered the Grouper Po-Boy. I seemed OK at first, but as I was rounded third, something had a different texture in my mouth. It was freaking chewing gum. Yes, someone else chewed gum in my mouth. I felt nauseous. I wanted to puke right there. I asked to speak with the manager. The dude behind the bar. He never came over to see me, but he was walking all over the restaurant. I went to the bar and asked to speak with him. I told him what I found in my sandwich. He as was I insulting his intelligence? I felt like he was insulting mine in stated. He had no concern what just happened to me what-so-ever. I was livid but calm all the while saying to my self WTF. My Marine Corps instinct was kicking in, I decided to leave so Mr. bartender/manager could make it home alive. This is a very unprofessional place that does not deserve to be on Madison Ave. Steer clear of this hole in the wall.
We went there for the first time today for my husband's birthday at 2.30, which is considered dinnertime.
Food: I was really looking forward to the filet mignon and pork loins. However, they only came around with flank steak (excellent; our favorite), sirloin, bacon-wrapped chicken (didn't care of it, honestly; all you could taste was bacon) and sausage (good, not salty at all). Very disappointed at that but didn't want to ask waiter. I would think for lack of 3-4 meats it wouldn't be the same cost as dinnertime; rather should be lunch price. That's the only reason I gave it a 4. Cheese bread was INCREDIBLE! Stuffed w/parmesan cheese. I think I ate all but 3. To DIE for!
Waiter: Freaking AWESOME! Very accomodating and pleasant.
Salad Bar: Def not worth going just for the salad. The foods were more like appetizers, but great nonetheless. Mozzarella balls, olives, lettuce/tomatoes, roasted pineapple, to name just a few.
We will def go again!!
I am so sorry for your unhappy experience at my restaurant. I can only say that we were having a "bad hair day." We have managed to receive only the highest ratings until now. Since we have only been open a few months, we are still trying to work out the kinks. Please come back. I would like to buy your dinner and prove to you that we have a high quality product along with great service.

Sorry but to the poster above who said, "not quite as good as Benihana" ummm seriously? I've been coming here for 20 years, the 3 times i was dragged to Benihana i always dreaded it and was always disappointed. Does Benihana have better Decor? Yes, but sorry the food at Nagasaki puts Benihana to SHAME.
We went to Ray'z last night (4/1/16) for the first time between 6:00 & 7:00. I order a chicken and was told they were out of chicken . WHAT on a Friday night and you are out of chicken. Someone does know how to order supplies. I was told that the pull pork sandwich was good so I ordered it . BIG MISTAKE .
It was so dry even with the sauce on it. and was full of gristle. I looked like it had been sitting out uncover all day. My friend's bake bean had a hard crust over the top of them and his pull pork also had gristle. My other friend who doesn't eat barbecue order a Hamburger when she got it in was covered in sauce and slaw. Which I think the person taking the order should have told her that their hamburger were service like a barbecue sandwich. in turn she had to order another sandwich. The worker who had told the chopped pork was great came over to the table and asked me did if I like it after telling her all she said was I will tell them not I am sorry or anything.

I am harder to please than a blue haired bitch on Christmas day. So when I say something or some place is fabulous, you better take your back side there immediately. This restaurant's food was FABULOUS!! The decor was confusing. They are using the old Japanese restaurants decor, but who cares. I didnt eat the bamboo themed curtains. The humus, the fresh flatbread, the lamb, chicken, beef--sheesh I think I have to go back today for some more. WitchyPoo will see all you fabulous asses there!!
I had the worst experience today, March 4, 2016 at this establishment....First of all it took 15 minutes for the manager to take our order...(Catfish, turnip green and Cabbage) I had a coupon, in order to use the coupon I had to order a drink (ice tea no sugar). As I was eating my fish, I was chewing on some sort of paper (I pray it was not toilet paper) it made me so sick to think about it. I call the manager, let her know what had happen....all she could say was I will take it off your bill...she took off the meal but not the drink. I explained that I would not have gotten the drink if I had not had a coupon. Did it make a difference NO!!! As you know I will never return to this establishment again....but the worst part was that no one every came back to ask how was I doing or refilled my expensive tea with no sugar!!! :).. I don't want to say it is because I am African American. But everyone else got some type of treatment but my table. I will make sure I will tell everyone I know not to patronize this establishment!!
If you haven't tried Miss Polly's fried chicken you are definitely missing out. The flavor is the best! The service is great! Go give it a try. It gives that other place a run for its money. In my opinion it's better.
not deserving of any stars. Front counter person needs to adjust his attitude dealing with the customer. In past experience was decent. But today was a total flop. menu prices do not match prices on line. Had to return our food. He was not to happy with doing do. pretended he did not understand, but he understood how to count my money. One of the waitress was nice and consider. Don't eat here if craving Chinese. this is a NO NO. UNHAPPY CAMPERS
We drove all the way from Collierville just to try Maximo's on 1/15/16. The atmosphere, food and service were top notch. They have a cool, quaint bar area and their drink prices are very reasonable. The Spinach and Crab appetizer was delicious as were the house salads and our entrees. I had the glazed grilled pork chop; it was very tender, moist. The taste and presentation reminded me of an expensive veal chop. My date had the mushroom stuffed chicken with roasted red pepper sauce, she raved about it. Both entrees came with risotto which is one of the hardest side dishes to get right in any restaurant, their's was cooked perfectly, very creamy and tasty. We can't wait to go back. Maximo's is one of Memphis' best! I hope they are around for a long time.
I had lunch at Fino's East yesterday and liked it very much! I had the spaghetti with zuchinni and a popover with mushrooms and something else that was wonderful! My friend had the pasta of the day and a cup of Italian gumbo and she loved it. Prices are quite reasonable and the place was welcoming and comfortable. I approve and will be returning soon! Parking is the only issue but on Brookhaven it is just part of the deal.
Dan McGuiness has moved next door to where it was on Spottswood (old location is now Mac's Burgers). No more fish and chips, shepherds pie. They're only serving Mac's food. Not bad, but not Irish grub you were expecting. Bathrooms were dirty. Good thing we loved the entertainment (Dana Messer). No sign on the outside of the building. Would have never known they were there. Poor experience.
What a pleasant surprise my visit to this restaurant was. I had some trepidation, having read a review from the commercial appeal which talked about delicious Italian pasta at a very reasonable price. Having eaten there twice I can only say what a wonderful restaurant experience it was. The preparation is impeccable, the food is delicious, and generously served.
I wish these two gentlemen a great success, they have brought something new and different to our restaurant community.
Ray'z has the best bar-b-que on the planet. His sauce is delicious enough to drink. Ray'z is a must if you want the real deal!
Steaks good, everything else came from Costco. Nothing done fresh and rolls were 3 days old. The Calamari right out of frozen foods section. Not worth the 200 dollars for 3 6 oz filets and a Calamari app. Sad they can be so pretentious to charge like Ruth Chris and be so Mcdonalds. No Table cloth btw. Very insulting.
Wonderful sandwiches and desserts. The owners are from the old world and do things the old fashioned way. Absolutely the best Tiramisu I've ever tasted.
Not terrible food but it's hard to say a chef made it. Pretty sure it's just frozen stuff from Sysco being heated up. Seems like this place draws the more redneck portion of downtown visitors. Staff is not very friendly. I'd put it on par with Coyote Ugly.
Pretty good food and very good lunch deals. No draft beer - in Memphis in 2015! Service can range from super to almost nonexistent. Very unfriendly building for those with disabilities. And I have never heard cursing in a service establishment like that when one of the managers goes on a rant.
