Service was slow, food was good, it was my 1st time having Ethiopian cuisine, very healthy all natural, not very many dessert options, nice quiet mature atmosphere not a place to bring kids. my son didn't like the food he needs more flavor. We went across the street 2 a Happy Mexican for dessert. only 3 or 4 parking spaces & took us a long time to find it even with the gps very easy to miss it!!!!
I give them 2 stars for trying. The pizza really has no flavor and out of all the pizza places in Memphis, Ciao Baby shouldn't be on the radar..
Two stars for the food. It is good soul food but the service provided by "Joe' was severely lacking. He was rude and inconsistent. He was abusive to other servers and staff. When told about the strong smell of musty mildew he laughed and stated that we should just get used to it.
Hard to completely mess up breakfast ... the place needs a good cleaning, it's filthy.
Last week was our Red Hat meeting for the Red Hot Memphis Mamas. Each lady of the group loves Asian food so we decided (10) to go to Bhan Thai. The waiter we had was nothing less than perfect. The food, however; was disappointing. We had to send some back. When we asked for tea, the water was the same temperature as tap water. We asked about coffee and found out they only serve instant. Hmmmm. At least the drinks we ordered was good.
BUT, the kicker was.........there was only 6 of us ladies that came. The manager or asst manager, Kevin, still put us in a private room (ab 6 pm). Three hours later, he came into the room and chastised us for not having more ladies (the original 10). I thought this odd on many levels. Why did he wait 3 hrs???? He said that the
'Red Hats' are on probation!!!! What does that mean? How can you put a group of old ladies on probation? Although there were 6 of us, several of us ordered food to go that way you could say 9 or 10 dishes were ordered. Geesh!
Made a reservation for Christmas Day. They only had 2 people working the dining room. One waitress, and one bartender. Waited 20 minutes to get menus after we were seated. My husband got up and got the pitcher of water off the bar to refill our water glasses. the bartender said he would comp our drinks, but when he rang it up he did not comp us for anything. Shame on the owner. If you intend to be open on Christmas had enough staff to take care of your patrons.
While I can't directly blame Camy's they certainly should be aware... I had a driver become somewhat belligerent when it took 45 minutes to get our meal and she mentioned it when he finally arrived. If she hadn't been in the middle of processing the payment I would have refused to take the food and sent him packing back to Camy's. In all fairness, this was an isolated event but worth a star.
Food is decent although they tend to overcook to the point of burning at times.
Overall: good for late night munchies!
I have been to Loose Goose a number of times, primarily because of the reasonable cost to get in to watch the fights, and the great deal on beer. However, the food there is terrible. Yes, typical bar food maybe, but having tried more than a handful of things on the menu, nothing is satisfactory. Additionally, when I was there this past weekend (after waiting 20 mins for a water refill and then another 15 for my check), I ran to the bathroom before I left. As I was finishing the owner and 2 of her friends came in, and the owner began to say how disgusting women are "get glasses girls", and things like that. As I tried to open my stall door, they blocked me in so they could hug, and once I was able to get past them to wash my hands, they blocked me once again. I left furious. I have never had a manager of an establishment, much less the owner, be so blantantly rude. We have tried to give this place a chance but after so much disappointment I believe we will be going back to our normal places.
Recently ate here on a Saturday night. When we arrived at 6:15, there was only 1 couple eating there (*should have been a good indication)! We were there for about an hour and no one else came in, other than 1 man who had a take-out. While the young waitress was very friendly and efficient, the food was pretty awful. I did have an order of Vietnamese Spring Rolls which were decent. But, the selection of Thai dishes was meek, and most notedly, void of Curry selections. The only one was Masaman, which ranks as my least favorite. With that said, I had my heart and tastebuds set on Thai Curry, so I ordered it. The waitress said it was prepared spicy and I asked for it very mild. To my dismay, the dish came out more like a soup with watered-down, tasteless sauce, very little chicken (my choice of meat) and few vegetables other than water chestnuts, which I specifically asked to leave out. Again, this was "soup" rather than a typical Masaman Curry entree. VERY disappointed. My companion ordered a Thai catfish entree (asked for mild) that had very little taste and very little sauce to boot. It was just a non-enticing plate of fish. Perhaps, our problem was requesting our selections as "mild", but based on the fact that there was no one else in the restaurant, I would only suspect that repeat business is minimal, at best, due to the quality and taste of the food. Maybe the Chinese and Vietnamese selections are better, but I won't visit again to try them out. I can only surmise that others feel the same way. After all, there was no one else eating there during the main dinner hours on a Saturday night...??
With so many other GREAT Oriental restaurants in town, this one is a waste of time and money.
The food is great but the service is some of the worst I've ever had. On two separate visits, it took over 40 minutes to receive our food and both time the orders were missing items.
I want this place to succeed but if they don't deal with the service problems...
I dined at Acre on a Wednesday night. It was a decent crowd for a week night. The service was great and the atmosphere was even better. It is simply beutiful, inside and out. We were a party of five. Everyone else loved their meal. My meal was blan. We only experienced one problem which will result in me not returning...Before we arrived, my wife called and asked if we could bring in our own wine. She was simply told yes. When we arrived, the waiter offered to pour our wine only to return a few minutes later to let us know that since they carry that particular wine, we could not open ours unless we also bought one of theirs. Since my wife and I were the only ones drinking the wine, we certainly did not need two bottles. We explained to both the waiter and the hostess that we were not told of that rule. Had we known of the rule, we would have brought in a different label that they did not carry. The hostess admitted that she should have told us when she called and she apologized. Given the circumstances, I asked the waiter to ask the manager for permission to open the bottle anyway. He still said no. To me, the manager had a great opportunity to make a happy customer in the restaurant's infancy. Instead, I will not be back.
Drinks were great! Food was not! I had the chicken Quesidillas and a Hamburger and had to send them both back. Awful
DANGER= the learning curve at the Midtowns newest hangout Slider Inn at Cooper and Peabody is sliding into oblivion. Everyone wants this place to succeed despite its extreemly slow service and the apparent neglect by the otherwise successful restaurant owner Aldo DeMartino who lives just two blocks from the establishment. This place has it, LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION just in the heart of an otherwise residential neighborhood. Walking distance to literally thousands of midtownees- they could serve frozen pizza and beer and do extremely well but for all concerned they have the damndest time getting even drinks to patrons. Is it the culture of the wait staff I must ask as they seem unaffected by customers who wait eagerly for any attention?? I say serve the lady a glass of wine- or whatever and the food orders can wait patiently. SMILE and take the sale- first impressions are indeed lasting. And if patrons must make it to the bar for service you should not be discouraged. Wait staff must sell themselves, they earn their living establishing rapport and are the truest representatives of their employer. Aldo please help this place, get rid of the old wait staff who rather be at their regular locals and get anxious bodys who want to make it happen here!!! Despite everthing you could actually screw this one up by not trying~
In a word, no. Not Greek food. Strip-mall atmosphere. Too dark to see. Uneven service. I have been there twice; but no more.
One word: Overrated
I liked this place last year, but after the last several visits for lunch, it seems to be sliding steadily downhill. The service has grown increasingly rude and apathetic. The draught beers are now much smaller (gone are the pints, apparently), yet still the same price. Good luck trying to get a slice of pizza (especially margherita) after 12:00, and what's left in the case looks like it was scraped off the floor. The fresh produce mini-market section has been squeezed to make more room for tables, and the produce displayed is anything but fresh.
Very disappointing trend. I had such high hopes for this place.

Overpriced, overdone, rude waiters are not funny, service is iffy and all in all not impressed. We have been several times when family members come to town, but we never darken their doors when we want bbq by ourselves. Like others have said, they may be famous, but they "ain't that great!"
Way overpriced and I found the menu a bit chintzy. My husband loves Monte Cristos and is the only reason we go there. Red Lobster is a better deal than this place as everything is ala carte.
This place was stinky and the service was horrible. The smoked salmon tasted like charcoal and the crawfish macaroni was HORRIBLE. Will never be going back. Not to mention this what seemed to be a couple that were behind the bar were very rude to me.
