One of my favorite places to eat downtown. The food is great, the service is quick and super polite, and the atmosphere is very nice. My first impression when I walked in was that this was going to be an expensive night. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for the excellent quality and amount of food.
This place is great! The people are wonderful, always friendly! The food is just good ol' southern cooked food, and just about everything is delicious. I love to take my friends and family to West St. Diner, and we will forever be returning customers.
Who was on Beale Street Sunday night, April 10th? Did you see the white man in green at BB Kings, Club 152 or singing "When Doves Cry" @ Wet Willies? I don't know what made me follow him, but dat man iz da bomb! I think his name is Tommy T. Did anyone else see him? Dat MF could not have been more on fire had they doused him in gasolene first!
This is a great restaurant they have everything from lasagna, seafood boil, too wings and burgers.
Fantastic restaurant! The menu changes with the season because they grow much of their own food. It is always exciting to taste all of the new flavors. The atmosphere is great and it is a perfect place for a quiet cozy date.
My Husband I have eaten here many times and love their food. They have one of the best filet mignons in the Memphis area. Their gumbo is great too and even the little dinner rolls are very tasty. The staff has always been very attentive and kind and helpful if asked for suggestions.
We love our Changs. We go during happy hour so you get a price break on appetizers. We also have a Changs card and get 10% off our meal. It is pricey, but the portions are very large and family style. We go there a couple times a month and my husband hates chinese food.
All I can say is the reviewers giving it poor scores are nuts. My husband grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico, which in the very southern part of New Mexico not far from Juarez so he knows good Mexican food. It may be a chain restaurant, but we love their food. It is excellent tasting, hot and the service is always top notch. We eat ONLY at Abuelos in this town because it is the only decent mexican food we have found that has superb enchiladas. I guess I can't expect much else from folks whose taste buds think pig should be the national food source. Each part of Mexico has its own ethnic twist on food so Mexican food depends on what area the restaurant owners and chefs are from as to what is served there. Eat in your hole in the walls or Taco Bell, we choose fine food and fine service at Abuelos!
Fast & fresh, Burly's is a great addition to the downtown/midtown neighborhood! The garlic fries are amazing - can't wait to try the full selection!
Made reservations at Fat Larry's for 25 people. Unfortunately, only showed up with 10. Did this bother the folks at FL?? Not one little bit. They seated us in the back room and we had a great night. The food was great as always!! Started off with the fried pickles and fried green beans!! Everyone who ordered the #1 Sampler was amazed at how great the BBQ was...pulled pork, ribs, brisket. I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye and they knocked it out of the ball park. It was not fatty and was SO flavorful. Everyone who wanted to sample some local BBQ was impressed and already wants to make it a usual stop for dinner when they're in town!!! We had an awesome waiter who was friendly, funny and attentive. Once again a great and hunger satisfying time at FLs!!!!!
I eat here all the time, and it's even better now that the original chef has returned. The food has always been consistently good and the service is friendly.
comfortable, clean, affordable.
great burgers but you already knew that. :)
Love this place. Always sit at the bar and try new things. The best is the BLT with spicy pimiento cheese. Salads are good because they're big, but need to be in a bowl so as not to be such a mess! GREAT service too. Friendly staff and cool atmosphere. The store part is good too. Have lunch then pick up items to take home to cook for dinner.
Had a most fabulous experience at Fat Larry's BBQ last night. We used a Restaurant.com coupon, which they gladly accepted. We ordered a little of almost everything and were not disappointed in anything. We started off with the fried dill pickles, fried green beans and sweet potato fries. The pickles and beans were crispy and came with a great dipping sauce that had a Ranch dressing base. We liked the fries, but decided they didn't go well with the beer we were having. Entrees ordered included the BBQ Sampler #2, Smoked Prime Rib, Ribeye, Catfish and Country Fried Steak. The BBQ Sampler # 2 is appropriately named as it was either enough for 2 or it enough food for 2 meals. It came with pulled pork, 1/4 chicken, 4 bones of ribs and brisket. One person had their ribs "Muddy" and was well pleased with the balance between the dry and wet sauces. The smoked prime rib was awesome, great smoky flavor, tender and cooked exactly right. The Country Fried steak was excellent and could be cut with a fork. The real winner was the brisket! It was so tender you could flake it with your fork, was some of the most lean we've ever seen and the taste was over the top. The wait staff was friendly, courteous and patient with us on all our orders. Our waitress kept our glasses and beer bucket full. We had 7 in our party, and were placed at a table for at least 11 people. We had plenty of room and did not feel like they were trying to squeeze as many people into a room as they could. Although the place was busy, it was quiet and we were able to carry on conversation while we enjoyed our meal Our only regret was that we had no room at all to try the banana pudding or coconut cake that looked so wonderful. Oh well, next time!
We went to this place with some friends last weekend while we were in Memphis. It was a great place. The food was unbelievable: Hamburgers! Wow! and Tamales! Terrific! and while we were eating and enjoying a great game of shuffleboard, the bartender came and brought us some freshly fried potato chips! YUM! What a good time!! We will definitely go back when we return to Memphis.
After hearing such varied feedback from friends I decided to check it out last week. There was no beer license, however they had all the liquor, killer food, really strong "GOOD" beer for crazy cheap, pool tables that take quarters, and a dart board. Think they were working out alot of little things that I'm sure all new places must go through, but I had a good time. I decided to stop in for a couple last night and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had Guiness, harp, Smithwicks, some Irish cider, and PBR on tap... and of course budlight for my friend who was so disappointed last time as he thinks there is no such thing as beer that is not a budweiser product. I noticed that the place was a lot more lax and getting it more together... I got my tab opened and closed quickly this time, music was better and not as loud, and the service seemed to have been better and faster... probably because things looked to be coming together much more smoothly. I can't wait to keep dropping by as the place keeps getting better and better.
Great downtown dining... relaxed and not stuffy. Food is great, don't miss the lobster risotto and the banana cream pie
Steff Mahan is AMAZING! She is talented and hilarious!! Don't miss this band on Saturday at Neil's!!!
