Re: “Raw

is it too picky to point out this film left town well before the review ran?

Re: “The Comedian

LeftWingCracker,
That is quite a harsh assumption. Of course one guy is long dead and the other will never hear of this or respond. So critiquing their motivation couldn't be easy.

Re: “The Comedian

He is turning into the Olivier of his generation; a great talent who no longer cares where his next check is coming from or what movie he is in.

Re: “Hidden Figures

Keep cranking out focus based movies. Crank out some Gidget goes Hawaiian and Tammy movies with people of color. Make some love stories with people of color for the Hallmark channel, not just a few. People of color fall in love all the time. Try not to be stereotypical. Why does Taraji need to be a head jerking loudmouth. She does that well, give her a chance to show more sides of her acting ability. So many stars of so many shades why is this America only showing one side. Show the different shades of people that continue to make this country great. Why hide their stories? All good and intelligent and sweet and medically wonderful and moral are not only Caucasion. Enough already! American film is so pitifully tranparent.

Re: “Hidden Figures

Hidden Figures is a good movie. I don't think it is Oscar worthy but People"s Choice worthy. It makes you want to google these women and see who they were. I am apalled that people of color are deliberately deleted from historical occurances. It is seldom questioned when the only person of color is the doorman, maid or janitor. It is 2017.Why did it take so long for this movie to hit the screen. This movie did not dwell on the horrible atrocities of prejudice and bias. These women were not super heroes with capes and sexist Marvel orDC costumes, they were women with children and husbands, who happened to have underpaid jobs at NASA that they were quite qualified for. Americans seem to hate women, people of color and and big group of a mix of others they can find or invent a reason to hate. I am tired of hearing the complaining and whining of people who feel they have been treated unfairly. It was great to see a movie where a truth was divulged and the spirit of the day reminded us how ugly America was and is. Why is America so afraid to tell the truth about all of her people? Why suppress history ? Are we that pathetic? Good movie, thanks for teasing us with this little bit of history.

Re: “Jason Bourne: Matt Damon Cashes Another Check

Nah. They can always just reboot the entire Bourne series in about 10 years with a new actor when Damon is too old to play the part.

Re: “Jason Bourne: Matt Damon Cashes Another Check

Maybe some year in the near future, Hollywood will have an original idea.

Re: “The Legend of Tarzan

I really like this movie, moreso than this reviewer. But this review is fair and balanced. Mr. McCoy seems to weigh the film against the source material and not the Tarzan films of past decades. One correction: 1. Edgar Rice Burroughs was not an Englishman. He was an American, born and raised in Chicago. Having read many of the pulp magazines of the early part of the last century, he felt he could write stories as good, or bad, as those he was reading. Thus, John Carter of Mars and Tarzan of the Apes were conceived.
Mr. McCoy is a bit critical of the flashbacks stretching into the 2nd half of the movie, but one of them, the killing of Kala, Tarzan's ape mother, by Chief Mbonga's son and followed by Tarzan killing the young warrior in a vengeful rage, is an important point in this story. It shows us why Chief Mbonga wants to kill Tarzan.

Re: “Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie

Joan Collins is looking fabulous at 83!

Jennifer Saunders is the funniest human on the planet, except for Stephen Fry. And maybe Vicki Lawrence.

Re: “Ghostbusters

Great movie! Stay seated until the credits have ended. I was pleased to see Cecily Strong in the movie, also. Chris Hemsworth's best part is contained in the closing credits.

Re: “Ghostbusters

I will see this because Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon are the most talented performers on Saturday Night Live since the 70's. I watch SNL mainly to watch them.

I've only seen parts of the original Ghostbusters because I've never liked -- and still can't watch -- Bill Murray.

This is what I thought. But, my wife wants me to look like this Tarzan fellow. So, I am sure we will see it soon enough anyway. Sausage Factory.
