I suspect Don will have a tiny arsenal stuffed in his trunks to toss at and blind Hillary should things get out of hand........ I mean this literally.

Re: “Democratic Discontent in Philadelphia

If Hillary is elected Bill Clinton is going to need a title less confusing than President Clinton.

I propose "Bill Lewinsky", any other ideas from the peanut gallery?

Re: “Democratic Discontent in Philadelphia

Gotta go with Hill. Don will, of course, have Jimmy Hart in his corner distracting the media most of the match, but I predict sometime in October the strap will come down and Hillary will be running from corner to corner, busting the head of every mook trying to climb into the ring. That's just how these things are written. Big Don is a heel.

Re: “Trump's Acceptance Address Aimed Beyond the GOP Base

The "elites" will make their peace with a President Trump, don't worry about that. He won't disrupt them in the least. Bernie scared them, for a nanosecond.

Not a chance Mullins. They'll both be turning 70 this fall.

Re: “Democratic Discontent in Philadelphia

According to my uncle who keeps sending me articles from Newsmax, Hillary has had hundreds of people assassinated, so I bet on her.

Re: “Democratic Discontent in Philadelphia

OK Jeff, that was a quick answer, so how bout a side bet. Cage match, Hillary vs Donald, who takes the belt? Gotta go with Hillary. Donald will be preening with his back turned and bang!, folding chair up under his comb over.

Re: “Trump's Acceptance Address Aimed Beyond the GOP Base

I'd have to consider (if I lived somewhere my vote counted. and this election was more authentic than Monday Night Wrestling) which candidate can do the most irreparable damage in four years.

Re: “State Official Lauds City's New Financial Direction

Isn't Justin the same person that scolded Memphis for handing out PILOT's like candy? I don't see EDGE cutting back at all. I'm glad Memphis is back on the right track, however, leaving retirees out to dry and cutting/changing benefits for police and fire has had a devastating impact as nearly a 1,000 combined police & fire personnel have left. Wait till the taxpayers see the bill for all the overtime paid by the City in the past 12 months.

Exactly, NR. Oligarchy is the marriage of fascism and aristocracy, fascism for princes and trust fund babies.

Re: “Trump's Acceptance Address Aimed Beyond the GOP Base

@Brackston,Clyde - Just to be clear, I'm not advocating for Trump. I'm saying that both Clinton AND Trump are unacceptable to me. I understand your reasons for backing Trump. I suppose a lot of people are going to vote for him as a 'disrupter', like you say. I personally think Sanders would have been a better guy to really shake things up, though. And I think the 'establishment' snuffed him, because he really could have won, and done those things. Now, as it sits, I think the DNC backed a loser. In both senses of the word.

So I am watching to see what happens next. I'm pretty well committed to Stein, now that Sanders is out though. And I think I might be done with the Democrats forever, after this crap show.

I used to take a moderate viewpoint, and vote for either the Democrat or the Republican, depending on who had the best plan, and who sounded the most sincere. But if HRC can schmooze with Wall Street, and still get people to buy that she's for the 'common man', then they stand for nothing anymore. They've lost all credibility with me. Better to cut ties with the Democrats and instead work for a party that actually does what it says it believes in. The Green Party really does do that. Jill Stein is a rational choice.

Disparage Trump supporters with name calling but they have real problems that he is addressing. Thanks to Wikileaks, all should now know who is corrupt. Hint: DNC and HRC.

Re: “Democratic Discontent in Philadelphia

Mulllins, I'd say it's easier for a common citizen to rise thru the ranks, if they are willing to put in the evil time, in the fascist system. I don't think Hillary or Donald has the grit for it.

Re: “State Official Lauds City's New Financial Direction

@Mempho.

More of a Glad. I am glad the State of Tennessee stepped in and made the Memphis politicians take care of their business, because it was evident they were not going to get the City's finances in order unless they were threatened with a state takeover.

All at the expense of typical bullshit from Memphis politicians accusing the state of "interfering in local matters", I might add. Too bad that Detroit either did not have such oversight or chose to totally ignore it.

Re: “Trump's Acceptance Address Aimed Beyond the GOP Base

WOW..! I'm not a dedicated reader of the Flyer...Although I take a look and express my opinion(s) from time to time.... I'm a conservative & a libertarian and completely sick of the 'establishment' politics..... Our choices are limited, we have two chances of a winner; DT or HC. One is the establishment politics the other is a disrupter. Maybe even paying more bribes that HC has taken, although I doubt it. My decision of casting right vote will fall on the disrupter.... Why? He is the best chance of freeing the people from the limited thinking and the good ole boy politics of the past.
Oak. I'm shocked at how much sense you made in this reading. Hi fives for you Sir!!

It's a bad idea to read new things, because it might challenge the misconceptions of your deluded state. Better to hold on to those fixed opinions. Right, Brunetto?
