Ok CLMullens you win. My moniker is silly and you're a super genius. Now go get some professional help.

CLMullins
I've often found that irrational obsessive behaviors can be changed via professional counseling.

But in the spirit of online peace and harmony I might change my moniker to Dwayne Johnson.

PersonalAccountability,
You wouldn't use it if it didn't matter. I've often found superficial pontifications to be perversely revelatory.

Your obsession with an online moniker is curious. Do all CLMullins fixate on such irrelevant minutiae?

PersonalAccountability,
That wasn't the question.
Give us your personal, anonymous experience for personal accountability. Just so's we know you understand the phrase.

No one in my tribe "demands". We ask or we earn. Demanding suggests entitlement. Only the Chitimacha are entitled.

PersonalAccountability,
So we can best understand personal accountability, perhaps you can give us your personal anonymous experience doing such. It might give your comments some weight.

Re: “Murder Rate Holds But Violent Crime Up in City, County

Hey I know! Why not send Mayor Strickland to Atlanta to demand that Rev. Jackson provide him with a plan that will end violent crime among his constituency within 30 days? Seems like his followers think that "demanding" is the way to get things done, so a healthy dose of "demanding" might do the trick.

Re: “Murder Rate Holds But Violent Crime Up in City, County

@CL, AP - No one cares. That was pretty mild compared to what I've seen at various inner city high schools in other places like Houston and Chicago. If your general modus operandi is aggressive behavior topped off with a dollop of violence, then that's the face the world sees. And that's what the kids are gonna remember.

Classy.

APop,
I'm sorry for the young lady. And glad most folks weren't affected. (can I see you in any of the videos?)
I only went to my city graduation because some jocks tried to threaten me away. Didn't want to miss that.
I'll just sit here and wait for comments from the urbanista crowd

Re: “Murder Rate Holds But Violent Crime Up in City, County

@CL

Just messing with you.

I was actually there. I am guessing 95% of those in attendance never knew anything happened. The High School's orchestra was playing, attention was on the young people as they processed in, and I think the cops got there pretty quickly. I never saw anything and did not know anything had happened until I got a call the next morning asking me to check out the Arlington Facebook page. So I am happy it did not interfere with the graduation ceremony, which went off without a hitch.

Arlington is a pretty small town but we can only identify two of those participating. The larger woman in the brown dress lives in Oakland and was an invited guest. The woman in the striped pants is her sister, lives in Lakeland, and is a parent of a graduate. Don't know who the rest are.

Too bad they chose to behave badly and miss the graduation.

Actually, some of the local comments I have heard out here are pretty funny. Mostly centering on the person's fighting technique and the size of her butt.

Pity the school has been associated in name with this. We are pretty proud of our 500 kids who graduated and the $31 Million in scholarship money they were offered. Proud too of those who were recognized as going into the service of our country by joining the military right after graduation. I feel really sorry for the young lady graduate who was the daughter and niece of these fools. She does not deserve the attention she must be getting from her friends.

There was more talk yesterday about the six year old kidnapped and murdered in Mississippi. A minor incident at a graduation is very small indeed compared to the pain that child's family will feel forever.

APop,
No idea, but I do feel a little guilty taking some measure of pleasure. Those kids had to put up with this.....
But that chunky guy giving the woman a hip bump, .... And at Bellevue Baptist....

Re: “Fight Over Forrest Statue Isn't Over

@John Spain: "Most people find the statue offensive because they've been misinformed for years by the media, or they don't know the full story. The story of Forrest becoming a Christian, having a change of heart, and dedicating his later years to repairing race relations in the South.

Forrest's speech to the Independent Order of Pole-Bearers Association July 5, 1875..."

Unless you argument is totally insincere, John Spain (that is to say, total b.s.), you and other supporters of the long dead Nathan Bedford Forrest as "a Christian" should not have any problem with both removing the remains and statue of Nathan Bedford Forrest from the Health Sciences Park in the Medical District and the reburial of the Forrest and his wife under simple grave markers --- sans any Confederate flags and symbols --- within an area historical African-American cemetery.

Re: “Fight Over Forrest Statue Isn't Over

@John Spain: "Let's not be fooled. Let's consider the real reason this has become an issue. The UT Medical Center desperately wants the land the park sits on to expand their campus. THAT is the reason Forrest Park is in the crosshairs, not some altruistic desire to "do good" by our corrupt City Council."

I reside across the state in East Tennessee (actually live closer to Canada than I do to Memphis) and I support the repurposing and renaming of Forrest Park for the expansion of the UT Medical Center - it seems to me that most residents of your city would be city would be in favor of advancing the good of all your living residents instead of blocking progress and deifying the mostly evil acts of a long dead individual.
