Re: “Under Construction: An Early Peek at Ballet Memphis' Midtown Dance Palace

Anyone know how many employees and other staff will be here on a daily basis? How many others are expected to come for lessons, recitals, etc. a day? And how many parking spaces will there be upon completion of the building and site? Those who work in and frequent Overton Square are a bit curious.

Re: “Where Do All The Frankie Vallis Come From? Frankie Camp, That's Where.

Right? I'm a bit of an audiophile and record collector and always enjoy this show. It really succeeds where so many jukebox/pop/rock musicals just don't. Couldn't make press night this go-round due to conflicts. Hated it.

Re: “Where Do All The Frankie Vallis Come From? Frankie Camp, That's Where.

Boston and Orlando have music communities? I had no idea. Frankie camps? I had no idea. I've seen this stage production before - on Broadway the year it won the Tony for Best Musical and a couple of years later in Las Vegas. But the music is fun and I'll see it again at the Orpheum on Saturday.

She was one amazing woman and I'm looking forward to meeting her in the new world. 😊

Re: “Disgraced Sets A Course for Conflict

I loved the production. Still thinking about weeks later. I agree that Shaleen's character has a disturbing journey. I need to read the script...just thinking if the playwright could have developed that character more, though I truly admired the brevity and tautness of the story.

Re: “Disgraced Sets A Course for Conflict

Shaleen's character really has one of the most interesting and disturbing journeys, I think.

Merits its own sub-thread really, and I regret not working him into the review.

Re: “Disgraced Sets A Course for Conflict

The other character, Abe, nephew to Amir, is played by Shaleen Cholera. His is a most interesting journey.

Re: “Jim & Jo Lynne Palmer Honored for Lifetime Achievement in Memphis Theatre

Great article and tribute to two actors of renown. Jo Lynne and Jim Palmer - induvidually and together - have richly enhanced - and continue to so enhance - theater and the theater community. They are richly deserving of the honor to be bestowed on them this evening. Congratulations, dear friends.
