I once met Rufus coming out of the court house in down town Memphis. Two beautiful girls and I were sitting on the steps when he came out. We started talking and offered him a ride to his car. He was very nice and friendly and funny. I met him again at the night club I managed in Memphis (EXPO). He was brilliant, preforming all his old music and lots more. If the two girls I was with happen to see this, I'd love to hear from you. Wanda!?
Waste of food? Surely these establishments have to-go boxes for patrons who dont complete the challenges. There are lots of things done to excess and most include things people do for entertainment. Why dont you go spend 14 dollars for a movie ticket and 10 dollars for popcorn and a drink and leave the ones who might want to try a food challenge alone. Better yet mind your own business. It's not like everyone coming in the door is ordering these extra large items.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service we had was great. The food is authentic and very tasty. The margaritas are good. I would recommend this to friends and family. We had the short rib tacos and the cheese dip and both were excellent. I look forward to going back to this restaurant.
This is so fantastic! I saw Miles give a presentation on the farm at the last PechaKucha Night.
everyonesacritic - It's not all about you! They can have more seats with a smaller kitchen and less staff this way - the quality of your dinner service is secondary.
Oh, wait - when you're the customer, it IS supposed to be all about you...
What's the deal with this "shared plates" meaning "you get it when it's ready" nonsense? Not on the part of the writer of this review, but on the part of the restaurateur (and others of this ilk in Memphis)? To be accurate, "you get it when it's ready" means "this kitchen and potentially the waitstaff are lazy, taking it easy by not bothering to course your meal, and not as concerned as we should be about your dining experience."
Why don't you guys ever offer the best of Memphis printing company? Clarke's Quick Print has been a full service printing company since 1969 in Memphis.
Gawd, I hope this is paid for editorial.
Front Street Deli?
I never saw the addresses either. I always wondered why you guys left that out of the food articles. I always gloss over the "additional" stuff at the bottom of every article.
Now we know.
buzz, the addresses, phone numbers, etc. of the restaurants are just below the article.
A few outside tables at agave maria would be great.
Address of the places you talk about would be a nice addition to these reviews...
we enjoyed the article here at Makeda's
Local on the Square is one of the worst restaurants in Midtown...and probably all of Memphis
Does anyone know who actually won?
