I wish I could've written this sooner, but alas, my work schedule is long hours on certain days. Less than a week ago I went to the TJMulligans on Houston Levee Rd in Cordova, TN to have a few drinks after work and unwind with that lovely pastime “Buzztime Trivia”. There was only one other player at the time, and after a few unsuccessful attempts to conversate across the 15 foot gap between us, he moved chairs to sit directly to my left, sharing the TV I was watching. I won't mention his name but it starts with an 'R' and rhymes with 'Peed'. At first we were having fun, talking trash, making jokes and explaining our (sometimes poor) trivia selections. It is at this time that I should say I'm a 29 year old normally attractive, married, tomboyish female who does not 'flirt' but enjoys normal people conversation. I have lived in 'Murica my whole life and have no problems having normal 'people sitting across the aisle on a bus' or 'people you see at the smoking section at work' or 'people who cashier your groceries' chit-chat conversation. I was a bartender and server for many years and have never had a problem treating all people equally and with respect- regardless of age, sex, orientation, race or any other bu||sh#t divisors. Under no invitation on my part, this guy decides to put his right hand on my (very) upper left thigh and give it a rolling squeeze. I was shocked. I know I'm probably a lucky member of the female persuasion in that I had never been groped in such a manner, but I have had drunk a$$hole$ swat at my waitressing behind as I'm walking by with a tray of food (to which they got a stern WTF reprisal). I gave this jerk the benefit of the doubt (I know) and said, “I did NOT give you permission to touch me, do it again and I will taze you.” Now I didn't have my taser on me, but somehow I thought the phrase made it more clear that his advances were not welcome. What does this lookalike for a certain fictional character baring the chest tattoo “I AM A RAPIST PIG” do? He takes his fat, sausage-like appendages and grabs my upper thigh again in a rolling squeeze- this time sliding his corpustular fingers into my inner thigh area and Strongly “massaging” my flesh between his nasty, shameful “I'll do what I want” digits. With a pervert's smirk no less. I yelped out “WTF, Man!?”, physically pushed his arm away to make him let go, and moved down to a different seat. This is where the story gets interesting. I immediately told the female bartender while in earshot of the Molesting Meat Pocket (MMP) and at least one barback. She said “I'll talk to him.” She DID NOT. The MMP proceeded to talk about how I'm drunk, I'm always drunk, yadda yadda, he didn't touch me, lies, lies etc. Now, being of Irish descent, I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that 2 drinks does not a drunk me make. But that's besides the point. Even if I were wearing gogo boots and a tube top instead of cargo pants and a tshirt, even if I had been on my tenth drink instead of my second, HE DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO MOLEST ME! As I watched him being served another drink and his food order without ANYTHING being done about it, I again let the bar staff know that I had just been sexually molested in front of them. NOTHING WAS DONE. I happened to see the same female bartender in the ladies room just after that where I complained a third time and demonstrated (on myself, not on her) exactly what he had done. “I'll talk to him.” SHE DID NOT. Apparently the MMP is a 'regular' and can buy his way out of repercussions. All of a sudden it hit me. This is what those women in India go through with their 'Eve-Teasing'. They are molested, assaulted, and nothing is done about it when they report to the authorities. The assaults are bad enough, but the most infuriating part is that NO ONE DOES ANYTHING.
Would I recommend TJMulligans in Cordova? Only if you enjoy being felt up by disgusting, MMPs at the bar, in front of the morally devoid waitstaff, only to have your protests ignored in favor of slimy, under-the-table $5 tips that are 'earned' at your expense.
They didn't honor a contract for a baby shower and gave the hostess only days notice that someone they thought was more important would be using the facility that day. How did he expect her to find a new facility and notify all the guests in just a few days. Then to suggest that she use the place across the street was a slap in the face. The signed contract didn't mean anything to the owner. I surely would have sued him!!!
The manager of this place put it out to a potential client, with a signed contract that they overbooked and said that it was The Neely's and lied to try to make the renter feel unimportant. Shame on it all. The 300 S. Main Street Gallery will never get a dime of my money. There is no reason why they could not honor their agreement with you for an event from 1-3 when the next event starts at 7:30.
I went to Fino Villa last night in Collierville only to be told they are not honoring coupons from WREG as they never authorized them, even though they have been up several times over the past year. The manager there couldn't be bothered to even talk to us personally. We were told to contact WREG to get a refund. However, they don't do refunds only exchanges for things I wouldn't want. Now I am out $50 bucks and had my anniversary plans sidetracked. I will never do business with Fino Villa again.
Please tell me ownership of this place has changed - the one on Overton Park is absolutely terrible now - food horrible -it just does not feel right - I loved this place years ago - but with this type of service and food, it will not last much longer.
I don't know how he spells his name Kacey or Casey he is the Manager. I let him know that the food came out luke warm and we were on lunch and he didn't come out when I asked for the manager. I had to call him on the phone 20 mins later and ask him to come out. The waitress was doing her best her leg was in a cast. But we had been waiting for over 30 mins for food and it wasn't even busy. So I just knew it would be hot. But it wasn't. So when he did come to the table he was really rude and had a very nasty personality when it came to customers or black people. Either way he told us not to come back. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone as long as he is the manager there. I wish I had the owners name and number. I talked to the people that work there and they told me he talk to them very ugly also. The only thing I could say is Wow!!!! I have a business and I have come here a number of times and never had a complaint. But today I will never come again until they get rid of him!!! I hope the owner checks the reviews from time to time.
y husband, daughter, and I met my sister and her family there for dinner this evening.
My sister and I each had coupon voucher. When my sister saw the waitress, she told her that each one of our families had a voucher and asked is we would each be able to use them since we were on 2 separate tickets. She was told her it would be no problem. The meal was pretty good (although Central BBQ is still way better). The problem began when we went to check out. When we were standing in line waiting to checkout, "Fat Larry" was talking to guys standing behind us, I heard him rudely say, "I will get it for you when these people move out of the way" (referring to mine and my sister's families).
Our waitress took my sister's voucher and processed her remaining payment. When I stepped up to the register and handed her my voucher, she was about to process it when, very rudely, Fat Larry asked where we were sitting. I pointed to our table. Again rudely, he asked, "With them?" (referring to my sister). I told him yes. He blew up at me and said that he would not honor my voucher that he wasn't giving away $40 worth of food (which apparently he doesn't know how to do math because he would have only been offering $20 worth of food). This would be no different if each of our families had come in and sat at separate tables. Its' not like they were busy anyway. My sister also tried to talk to him again and one of his family members ( I assume) tried to give her $20 to shut up and go away.
I would not be writing such a negative review you if Fat Larry has said something like, "I'm sorry, but I can only allow one voucher per table. I'm sorry my employee told you wrong, but I hope you will come back another time." I would have been more understanding and MIGHT have visited again. If he doesn't want people using vouchers, then he shouldn't offer them.
The attitude and rudeness with which he spoke to me and my sister was absolutely unacceptable. I have never been spoken to like that before in my life and I will never give that man one penny more than what I had to pay him for dinner tonight and I hope those of you considering going won't either. I had read other reviews on some other websites, but I tried to go with an open mind to give it a chance...the biggest mistake of the year.
It wasnt what I thought. Place was super packed and super hot! Small dance floor. It was definitely not for me. Plus THEY are a full bar and BYOB. BYOB admission was a total of $30. $3 for a can of coke. The owner is making a killing and obviously not investing it back into his business! #IWouldNotRecommend
For a place called the Spaghetti Warehouse they cannot even get the spaghetti cooked right, been there twice and it was so bad both times..never going there again.
Total shithole. My friends and I come back from college and partied here. It is still a mystery to me why people would choose this inbred oldhome. To hear that this place is called restaurant, is a joke. This place is gross.I feel genuinely sorry for anyone who eats food from here. Every single staff is above the age of 50, except this tubby Asain, avoid him at all costs, huge asshole. I always feel the need to shower upon leaving this place. Maybe it's because every single surface of this rundown bar is sticky icky. Service is nice and slow, every time. Gotta love that musky cig/local drunk sweat aroma they got going though. GO TIGERS!
This 'bar' is run by a complete idiot. If you accidentally stumble in there on the weekend and wonder if it's emptiness categorizes it as a going concern, know that it is and for a good reason: the owner is a bigot whose idea of a good time includes getting loaded and harassing her patrons. I'm glad you're so "proud of your accomplishment and the culture of 'yerohcusssstummers'" bitch but get with the times. We're not in Montana anymore; this is Memphis and if you're not pleased to serve the darker demographic then you won't be in business long. This is America - and the 'best' color is green. CREAM, get the money yall and spend it elsewhere. Loose goose? More like loose lips (they sink ships, honey). Why don't you make like the titanic and go under?
Sucked , in the right place though . Across from the gun range, half a block down from the trailer park.
Service: can't say, they were closed both times I tried to visit.
Food: can't say, they were closed both times I tried to visit.
If you don't want to run a restaurant, don't open one. Posting a "Sorry, we're closed because one of our staff had a baby" sign doesn't cut it.
I honestly do not see how this place stays in business. When this location opened a few years ago, the service was very efficient, professional, and friendly.
However, in the last year it has fallen of a cliff. My friend and I ordered and it took a half hour for 1 of our entrees to be servied. His was served and mine wasn't brought to me for 12 more minutes. I asked the waiter about the slow service (in a mostly empty restaurant) and he JUST STARED AT ME WITHOUT SAYING A WORD. I was appalled. I contacted the corporate office. I also spoke to a female on the phone who claimed to be the manager. She sounded as if she had just woke up but she was apologetic. I was sent a gift card for a free meal and so went back a few weeks later. THE SERVICE WAS JUST AS BAD! The cashier acted as if she was offended that we were even there. And, again, my friend's food was served to him first while I had to wait a solid 10 minutes later to get mine. I will not be going back. EVER.
Rudness by the entire staff is totally unacceptable
Live close by and have given them more than enough chances to change my mind. Each time (to go and sit down) I've been here with friends or family, we were treated as if we were being tolerated or we should feel lucky they allowed us through the door. There are so many options for BBQ in Memphis and many places where the food is better and the service is MUCH better. Too many options in this city that would treat you like they appreciate your business. I will not be back and will advise any/everyone I know to just pick somewhere else....anywhere else.
This story tops all of your stories about poor service hands down.
Tonight, my friend and I went to Onix. Our waiter dropped an entire martini on my friends really beautiful dress. While the waiter was apologetic, he was not in a position to do much and said that he would send the manager over.
We waited for a half hour. The manager never came out. The owner of the restaurant came into the restaurant and heard about what happened and apologized. He said he would comp the entire bill. When we went to leave, a bill did arrive, so my friend asked what gives and asked for someone to notate that they would cover her dry cleaning on the check very politely.
The waiter said that the owner of the restaurant had left the premesis and the manager was too busy to come out. We could clearly see the owner still sitting inside. The manager never came out.
My friend very calmly went inside. THE OWNER OF THE RESTAURANT CALLED HER AN ASS FOR ASKING FOR THEM TO NOTATE THEY WOULD PAY HER DRY CLEANING. She wasn't rude and didn't ask for anything special.
What kind of restaurant owner calls a calm patron who has eaten their dinner in a wet dress an ass? Unconscionable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a black man dating a white woman in a city with such a racial prejudice I am used to the strange looks from some people. But never had I had one act on it. Tonight we tried loose goose it was ok at first until some drunk woman at the bar said i was stealing and my girl better find a clean man. ive never been so embarassed and im not a criminal. mixed and black couples avoid loose goose unless you want to see america before dr king.
Re: “Side Street Grill”
Used to love it and frequent often. The last time I was there (2 weeks ago), the horrible attitude from the famale bartender left me dumbfounded. If management doesn't address that young ladies apparent distaste for paying customers, then I will not be back....nor any of my friends. The martinis are good, if pricey, and the food is unpredictable...good some days, really bad on others.
