Re: “VFW Post 7175

It's not just your Grandpa's VFW Post anymore. I think so many people have the wrong idea about the VFW. I know I did. I thought it was just a small little bar with a lot of older men That were Veterans sitting around drinking beer swapping war stories, but don't get me wrong, there are quite a few Veterans from Vietnam, the Korean War, Desert Storm, and of course, the Iraqi War. And they do swap and share stories, but some are sad, many are touching, many are humorous, but what I get from hearing the m the most is a sense of safety, gratitude, and honor sitting and listening to a Veteran share personal stories. But when the lights turn down and the volume turns up, you are in a whole other place. Everyone has a great time. It's a more mature crowd, mostly 30's and up, so your with people who are there to have a great time, make memories, and friends. Not fighting and trying to start crap. Karaoke is so much fun and they have tge best karaoke team around. If you know anything about karaoke, then you have to know about Sherry-oke. So do yourself a favor, u f you are looking for a little less intensity, a little of havo by to squeeze by people to get to the bar, and a lot less of having to wait half an hour for a drink, give this VFW Post 7175 in Millington a try!! And the bonus is that all money made there goes to helping Veterans and their families (after overhead anyway). Can't beat a night on the town, a great time, and supporting a great and necessary cause.

Re: “VFW Post 7175

The VFW's Warrior Lounge in Millington is so much fun. They have karaoke every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. It is the biggest and best beer and cocktail bar for miles and miles. They have Thirsty Thursday and Bike Might all in the same day, every Thursday. You get 2 for $4 domestic beer. They the best bartenders with great customer service skills, and nice to look at too. They have pool tabkes, dart boards, shuffleboard, bar top trivia games, hope in one, and my favorite, Friday Night Steak Night, with every 1st and 3rd Friday being Surf & Turf, lobster and steak. The prices in good and drinks cant be beat.

Re: “Germantown Regional History and Genealogy Center

This collection is top notch and organized to be friendly to the novice genealogist. They have a collection of local history, state information, Native American, Civil War, American Revolution, as well as access to Ancestry.com, Fold3, and are a FamilySearch facility. The Tennessee Genealogical Society is housed here.

Re: “Ray'z World Famous Dr. Bar-B-Que

My husband, my sister, my brother-in-law and myself had the pleasure of having dinner on Ray's while visiting Memphis last summer. I hope my review isn't a repeat, I do remember want to write one but I don't think I did. By far this restaurant has the best dinner we had during our five day stay in the area. Our only regret was not being able to get back there. The food and service was excellent. Ray spent some time with us sharing his story, and we were so impressed with his kind friendly way. He is running a restaurant and yet took the stop to stop and speak with us. We do have one question for you Ray..."When are you going to be on Shark Tank?" He showed us his labels, and he was ready. We have been watching and looking, and hoping we didn't miss it. Good luck to you and your excellent restaurant. Anyone in that area don't go home without stopping in. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Regards,
Ann from New Jersey

Re: “Ray'z World Famous Dr. Bar-B-Que

Ray'z is a gem hidden among the BBQ joints of Memphis. My daughter (home on leave from the military) and I are both KCBS judges and have sampled some of the best Q in the south. We both agree that Ray'z is a unique flavor you MUST try. It is not your run of the mill BBQ like all the others we have tried. Great beans, slaw, pulled pork and OMG the ribs!!! Cooked the way ribs should be cooked with a great texture and a wonderful unique taste. Skip all the named places like Central and head straight for Ray'z. Ray is the DR and when you get done you'll feel great. Oh yea, they are also the friendliest folk you ever want to meet. Ray, thank you for a day my daughter and I will never forget.

Re: “Hadley's Pub

The food is amazing. The staff very friendly. If you have not been there in a few years, you need to check it out. They have daily throwback specials such as Hot Wings with REAL buffalo sauce, Steak nite at $5.99 for a ribeye and taters, Philly Steaks for $3.00 but even when it's not throwback night...The food is very good and price is excellent. My only complaint is I can't take them to Texas with me when I move!

Re: “Interim

All of these reviews are OLD. If you haven't been to Interim since Chef Dave Krog took the helm back in March2016, you've missed an exciting meal. He has raised the bar on creativity and flavor, especially the constantly changing fresh fish. All of the sauces/ stocks, dressings are house made by Dave and his team. Dave expects the best of his team and they deliver under his imagination and creativity. Give it a try if you've been away for a while, you will be well pleased. Don't pass up the desserts, French pastry Chef Franck Oysel is creative and extremely talented.

Re: “Hattiloo Theatre

Hattiloo Theatre is one of the best venues in Memphis to experience live theatre. The actors and productions are always first rate and the theatre offer many plays by new playwrights and African American playwrights. Do yourself a favor and check out one of their performances.

Re: “Queen of Sheba

I am harder to please than a blue haired bitch on Christmas day. So when I say something or some place is fabulous, you better take your back side there immediately. This restaurant's food was FABULOUS!! The decor was confusing. They are using the old Japanese restaurants decor, but who cares. I didnt eat the bamboo themed curtains. The humus, the fresh flatbread, the lamb, chicken, beef--sheesh I think I have to go back today for some more. WitchyPoo will see all you fabulous asses there!!

Re: “Maximo's on Broad

We drove all the way from Collierville just to try Maximo's on 1/15/16. The atmosphere, food and service were top notch. They have a cool, quaint bar area and their drink prices are very reasonable. The Spinach and Crab appetizer was delicious as were the house salads and our entrees. I had the glazed grilled pork chop; it was very tender, moist. The taste and presentation reminded me of an expensive veal chop. My date had the mushroom stuffed chicken with roasted red pepper sauce, she raved about it. Both entrees came with risotto which is one of the hardest side dishes to get right in any restaurant, their's was cooked perfectly, very creamy and tasty. We can't wait to go back. Maximo's is one of Memphis' best! I hope they are around for a long time.

Re: “Crazy Italians

What a pleasant surprise my visit to this restaurant was. I had some trepidation, having read a review from the commercial appeal which talked about delicious Italian pasta at a very reasonable price. Having eaten there twice I can only say what a wonderful restaurant experience it was. The preparation is impeccable, the food is delicious, and generously served.
I wish these two gentlemen a great success, they have brought something new and different to our restaurant community.
