I'm trying to find information on the "Pea Farm" in Jacksonville, AR. My great grandmother was an inmate there in the mid to late 20's. I can't find information on the Farm for Women. Was there a coverup because of what happened there? Would Little Rock have the files from the faclity?
Be that as it may. I absolutely loved the movie 'Everything is Illuminated'.
Everything Is Illuminated was also the reading equivalent of eating broken glass. It was an amazing movie, but that was because of the casting of Eugene Hutz of Golgol Bordello and nothing to do with the actual writing, which was atrocious. I loved the movie and couldn't wait to read the book, which was almost entirely unrelated.
Foer's charm was that he wrote about things only old people care about when he was a young writer. Precociousness doesn't age well, however.
Here I Am by Foer is bizarre, troubling and unreadable. It took him 10 years to write this?

Oh man I love Roberto bolano too. I can't put my finger on why (hats off to you who can), I just love reading it. I've actually got a note in my phone to name all my future dogs after characters in his novels.
And I should add, I am not reading this book series in Overton Park. Don't want to get run over.....
Reading Diana Gabaldon "Outlander" series. It's on STARZ as well as books. Now into book 4, "Drums of Autumn." Find us on Memphis MeetUp if you are interested.
Writing my Wrongs by Shaka Senghor.
This is the event Black Lives Matter should protest. It's absolutely absurd the Civil Rights Museum would allow anyone to fertilize and water the lie, James Earl Ray assassinated Dr. King.
The Civil Rights Museum is not under new management.
The new launch date is Saturday, April 9. Event times and details remain the same. Many thanks to the "Flyer" for your help spreading the word about the postponement!
Indie Memphis sometimes screens THE ROOM. Maybe they can arrange a screening this summer so you can catch up. While you don't need to have seen the movie to enjoy the book, you will enjoy the book so much more after experiencing THE ROOM.

I still have a couple of cassette tapes left by my old friend at 282 Garland. I put them in the tape deck and pray that the tape monster doesn't mangle them into an unruly mess. He'd be embarrassed to know we are still talking about him, the rockstar in him would be a little upset if we didn't.
My husband was adopted out in the early 40s' Real name was John William True. Adopted name was changed to Larry Bond Wilkison. We do not have to my knowledge a copy of adoption anywhere. His adopted mother left a letter to him in her dresser draw that his real name was John William True. This was found after her death.I have always wondered if he was one of the stolen babies. His wife Sharron S Wilkison

And your well on the way to filling the next shelf
Please keep up the great work
You're making me want to read "this horrible piece of filth" to find out for myself. I'm a huge fan of noir. The darker, the better. Oft times I find dark subjects an interesting study in the struggle for power-most often the stuggle is with oneself, as it sounds in this book.
Eustace Conway III was a counselor at Camp Ridgecrest for Boys when I attended in 1948 and 1949. It is good to learn more about him and Eustace Conway IV, I had often wondered if they were related. Eustace was a great counselor.
