Re: “Acre

One of the best restaurants in Memphis. Consistently creative, high-quality dining and great service.

Re: “Fuego Maya's

Unfortunately, this tasty, little restaurant didn't last for long; it has been closed for months. There's just so much competition with the multiple Mexican restaurants and Taco/Tortas Trucks on every corner in the Summer/Berclair/Waring areas.

Re: “4 Dumplings

Delicious and fresh food with a very friendly and gracious staff.
Dumplings are filling and larger than others in other Memphis restaurants.
Take friends there often and they all love it too!

Re: “The Second Line

I'm originally from New Orleans and can honestly say that The Second Line's food is the most authentic I've ever eaten in Memphis. The red beans and rice come closer to my homemade version than any I've tasted in the city and the shrimp po' boy was scrumptious. Both were just like mama used to make when I was a kid!

Re: “Center for Southern Folklore

Great Venue!!! They bring in the best that Memphis has to offer. There is more culture there than in a pan of fried chicken! Great staff, menu, and ambiance!!!

Re: “Broadway Pizza

I ordered a House Special pizza with no smoked sausage. Had the person over the phone to repeat the order. Usually, the smoked sausage is chuncky, this time it was diced. I couldn't see until I bit into a slice. I called the restaurant and they said to bring the pizza back. I lived too far to take back. I didn't like the manager attitude so I told him word of mouth goes a long way, then I hung up. I called back to say I'm sorry and he hung the phone in my face. I wasn't even nasty. In my book, so much for Broadway.

Re: “Rum Boogie Cafe's Blues Hall

No this is a 5 star place. For some of the best live music in Memphis the Blues Hall it one of the top places!

Re: “Three Angels Diner

I've never had an issue with portions (I'm now seeing indicators of why the south leads in obesity) the food is great, service is generally great I was super thrilled that the arcade games are now "out of order".

My only chief complaint is after years of having one of my favorite bloody marys in the city they have become dull and boring. I'm not sure if it is the new fella making them behind the bar during brunch or what but they used to give me a kick in the ass and send me out the door happy. Still one of my favorite places to each brunch though!

Re: “Hadley's Pub

NOT recommended. Dirty and nasty. This place is aweful. The worst customer service I've ever had. The food is not even edible. We went because the menu advertised fish and Chips and Rueben sandwiches however, after the drive there, they informed us they had no fish. We settled on the corned beef and it was two slices of Walmart deli meat on two soggy prices of saurkraut. We couldnt eat it and left it in the plate. We ordered a couple of beers but they seemed to be out of our first two choices and when we finally did get our first beer 15 minutes later, they were marginally hot. Then the band came on, Rust in Heaven or something er other and played a bunch of golden oldie tunes that might have been great if we were 70 years old. That was 30 minutes after the keyboard player kept playing a god aweful sound repeatedly on his keyboard. If we hadn't have had to wait for over 30 minutes for our limpy soft sandwich we would have left immediately. About 30 minutes of hearing Jet Airliner over and over was all we could do, we left the sandwich and warm beer and bolted across the street to a marginally dirtier and smokier bar but at least they served cold beer and the music wasn't as bad because they at least made us feel 55 instead of 70. If you want cold beer, decent service, decent music, decent food....this place is definitely not it. Irish pub?? Forget it, not even a clue why it's called Hadley's.

Re: “Bombay House

Very good Indian food. I've tried India Palace and a few other local Indian restaurants but Bombay is the BEST!!!!!! My mom's first experience with Indian food was here. She LOVED it!

The nationally ranked women's basketball team is exciting to watch and the atmosphere in Mallory Gym is unforgettable.
