Re: “Cinco de Marzo Live Mariachi Band, Los Cantadores

This group offers a great variety of music ranging from traditional rancheras to the sounds of Buena Vista Social Club. The group consists of versatile musicians that contain a wide repertoire of songs. Keep in mind that Los Cantadores should not be labeled as a mariachi, but rather as its own unique self with mariachi, reggetone, jazz, trio, banda and rock influence. The amount the group charges is relatively cheap compared to that of other professional groups.

Re: “Zoo Brew

Kick off the dog days of summer in style and raise a glass to the Oregon Zoo. Bring your pack to sample artisan beer and cider from more than 60 regional breweries. Shake a tail feather to the premier party sounds of Cool-Ade on the concert main stage and DJ Angry Little Man.

Re: “"Math Errors in the Holy Bible"

For as Jonas was three days ... - See Jonah 1:17

This event took place in the Mediterranean Sea, somewhere between Joppa and Tarshish, when he was fleeing from Nineveh. It is said that the "whale" seldom passes into that sea, and that its throat is too small to admit a man. It is probable, therefore, that a fish of the "shark kind" is intended. Sharks have been known often to swallow a man entire. The fish in the book of Jonah is described merely as a "great fish," without specifying the kind. It is well known that the Greek word translated whale, in the New Testament, does not of necessity mean a whale, but may denote a large fish or sea-monster of any kind. - Robinson, Lexicon.

Three days and three nights - It will be seen in the account of the resurrection of Christ that he was in the grave but two nights and a part of three days. See Matthew 18:6. This computation is, however, strictly in accordance with the Jewish mode of reckoning. If it had "not" been, the Jews would have understood it, and would have charged our Saviour as being a false prophet, for it was well known to them that he had spoken this prophecy, Matthew 27:63. Such a charge, however, was never made; and it is plain, therefore, that what was "meant" by the prediction was accomplished. It was a maxim, also, among the Jews, in computing time, that a part of a day was to be received as the whole. Many instances of this kind occur in both sacred and profane history. See 2 Chronicles 10:5, 2 Chronicles 10:12; Genesis 42:17-18. Compare Esther 4:16 with Esther 5:1.

In the heart of the earth - The Jews used the word "heart" to denote the "interior" of a thing, or to speak of being in a thing. It means, here, to be in the grave or sepulchre.

Re: “Brister Fest

Sure wish there was a full line-up of the acts somewhere online. Levitt Shell doesn't even list the Festival as happening there, and the only place I've seen the what the acts are is on a flyer at The Dublin House. What gives here? No need to advertise, these days?

Re: “"The Absence of Evidence"

The show will be at Robinson Gallery - 44 Huling Ave. Right off of South Main

The "Absence of Evidence" will feature a series of bold paintings and compelling works on paper. Carl is an amazing and assured artist that has mastered the idea of simplicity and depth. His paintings are beautiful contemporary abstractions illustrating issues that touch us all, including relationships, social injustice, and economic conditions.

It is poised to be a fantastic show

Re: “Beats Antique

Beats Antique is best imagined as an innovative creature built from the cumulative heritage of the world’s music chasing its tail. However vivid that image, when a marching band groove crashes into bluesy folk chords only to be accompanied by electronic beats and Middle Eastern melodies, you’ll still be surprised.

Re: “Rock-n-Roll Cafe

Allea, I can clear it right up for you....Joe used to do great shows and sometimes he would do not so great shows (because of his attitude). I have seen enough to know. He is charming, good looking, and a great entertainer, he will give you all his attention, especially if you are an attractive woman. But he risked everything a year and a half ago or so and I assume it has gotten him where he is today. I hope he is doing well.

Re: “Rock-n-Roll Cafe

My girlfriend goes to each show of Joe Kents once a month here in Paducah,KY at Casa Mexicana. I have been with her twice and have enjoyed the show very much. Joe is very respectful not only to the adults in the audience but especially to the young children. What my girlfriend and I are trying to figure out is why the negative comments are on here. Did something happen at one of his shows or are people creating rumors just to be heard. Could someone please clear this up for us.

Re: “James Govan & the Boogie Blues Band

It was a great and pleasant surprise exit from Rio de Janeiro to find this wonderful site! That impressive sound of that band! It made me return to the site on another trip. The food is also excellent.I miss and I plan to return, of course! Will do that shortly.
