A disappointing loss but this team played with heart the entire game against a ranked team that had upset Louisville. A great improvement over some past teams that expected and accepted defeat. This should be a great, and respectful, rivalry.
damn..sux for randy culpepper...guess he didnt make the cut
Kevin Lipe: PINKEE VIL
Man, I hope they let you out of that nice padded office soon, and let you watch some real basketball.
It's okay Kevin, the regular season is almost back.
I was thinking Michael or LeBron. hmmmm
Oh come on. That's an unfair comparison. More like a UFC fighter using illegal gloves with brass knuckles in them! :)
Memphis, keep winning, we don't need no stinkin' Big 12 conference.
I have met both young men and they are really gracious in taking time to visit while going about their daily routine. GO TIGERS!
Nice haiku, Kevin. Oh, and I liked the Lou Reed references!!
I'm still expecting (hoping?) to see Mario Chalmers ASAP.
Damn Chandler is ineligible, getting paid to beat Dedric. LOL
Would not put anything past the NCAA when it comes to sticking it to Tigers.
wow...what a game...excellent write up...
I'm hoping that Memphis gets at least 7 wins this year.
I had forgotten how great a voice John Paul Stevenson is on the pa. Had some great flashbacks of him in the Pyramid days hearing that voice again. Great to have him back.
Happy to see the effort to get Gasol and Z-Bo involved with perimeter shooting.
We've been fighting against a packed lane for years now. One way to fix that is for one or both of those guys to start taking and making a handful of 3s every game. Good on Fizdale for trying that out.
Even if it's just extending the screen out above the top of the arc, it'll make for more room for guys like Conley and Baldwin in the lane, or for cutters like Tony, while also forcing more help from other defenders, which should create more open looks for a guy like Parsons on the perimeter.
That's getting way ahead, but hopefully Gasol can become a legit 3 point threat, even if it's just enough to force defense to respect him.
Agree on the 10 game idea, but only if it came with playoff expansion.
I could even go with a 16 team playoff that invites all 10 conference champions plus 6 at larges, though I think 8 is the right number. This year, you'd have the 5 major conference champions. Plus a team like Houston would stand a good shot to get in. Then you'd have two more spots for teams like the Ohio State-Michigan loser or maybe a Louisville that finishes 11-1 with their only loss that thriller at Clemson.
I think we're more likely to see more games than fewer games. College football is all about the money.
They play the anthem at middle school football games. Middle school football is all about training up kids for high school football which is all about next year's recruiting class for college football, which is all about the money.
would this article be considered a poke?
48 and the 5th seed in the West.
Grinditout Media says we are going to win them all.
Love - and the players should be paid.
