Great Show! Great Space! "Talk-Back Theater"
Play runs, March 18 – 20 & March 25-26, 2011. Tickets online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/162…
The Secret Garden at PPP is a fantastic production and better than most professional theater presentations in Memphis -- on a par with the excellent productions we have come to expect from this Playhouse.
thanks for the listing Memphis Flyer!
Wow, Neil's will be THE PLACE to be this Saturday! I can't wait!!!! Steff and her band are awesome. Tori, Diane, and Barry added to the mix will just make this one long jammin', rocking night. You're crazy if you miss this show!!! Let's make it a party!!!!!
I have heard Steff numerous times and am always smiling when I leave. Her songs are heartfelt. She has 3 CD's that are must haves for your collection; they get lots of playtime on my Ipod. Come join us at the show this weekend.
Love Steff and her band. She writes and performs her own songs. This show is not to be missed.
Don't miss this band! Steff Mahan is amazing and Tori, Diane, & Barry are great as well. If you are in Memphis on Saturday, this is the place to be!!!
Absolutely an unexpected treat. Fascinating story and a part of American history that shaoped the world as we know it. Well acted and staged. A treat to those who love theater and those who love the quirky facts of the American history.
With unabashed vulgarity and sincerity this play exposes Toronto’s 80's view on drag, the hypocrisy of the gay community when it came to drag queens and what was most notable the AIDS epidemic. It is a play about truth.
They are bringing sexy back this Saturday night!
This is one of the very best bands to have ever come out of Memphis TN.
As one of the gingerbread house builders in this display, I was extremely disappointed to see that the photograph shown here is a stock photo of a sweet but standard, teensy house. I would not be interested in visiting Gingerbread Dream based on this picture. The real gingerbread village at the Botanic Gardens is amazing; the buildings are huge and intricately decorated by professionals. Please- if you can't represent this event with a photo of the actual display, don't use a photo at all!
I participated in this workshop in Pensacola last month. Awesome event. Finally, a great "Eastern" philosophy discussed by an American Buddhist monk in a way a "Westerner" can easily understand and practice with positive results.
The quality of art just keeps getting better and better, and this year is definitely the best. With 50 artists showing work, there is SO much to choose from. Fortunately, there is the opportunity to preview the art the week before the show during school hours - good for those of us who have a hard time making up our minds! It's a great way to support your local artists and find some very impressive art for your home.
Mirimichi's patio parties are awesome - and this one is going to be the best! I love the Def Tonz, and it will be so much fun to dress up, enjoy dinner and have a good time!!
This is one of my favorite Memphis art events! 50+ artists. Live jazz. Wine (available) and delicious hors d'oeuvres! All for $5 admission on Saturday night= a great evening of art and entertainment! (The Sunday afternoon opportunity to see the art is new this year. A nice outing in daylight, too!)
Just an observation...this is a press photo from the DC production, not the Memphis production!
Rock & Roll Heaven! I recently had the pleasure of seeing a part of my teenage years come back to life right before my eyes! I was a big fan of "The Gants" from Greenwood Ms. I remember being tucked in bed late at night listing to WLS Chicago and the thrill I got when The Gants came on with their regional hit Road Runner! I had seen them perform in Greenwood and to hear them being played along with the Beatles and all the others bands was a great thrill!
They say you can't go back but I got that same old feeling at Ground Zero when The Gants took the stage. Sid Herring has one of the best rock & roll voices any where and he was cooking! Sid has gotten his hands on some young, very talented, guys and Presto! GANT MAGIC! Keep it coming Sid!
Love you Brother! Doug
