One more thing... it was pretty cruddy to do this two weeks before Christmas. They claim to have been working on it for 23 months, another 2 weeks wouldn't have hurt anybody. Nobody really cares about the the dopers, they deserve it, but what about the honest, single, working mothers, struggling to take care of their children? Again, pretty cruddy two weeks before Christmas!
On the news last night, right after the PP story, was an afterthought, something about Memphis breaking last year's murder record. People are killing each other and the police spend nearly 2 years trying to shut down a strip club. Wow! Talk about mixed up priorities. And, on top of that now there are several hundred, five hundred I'd guess, people out of work and one of the city's top tourist attractions padlocked! If they succeed in seizing the property, what will they do with it. A restaurant? The Lone Star is closed and they tore down the Denny's across the street. Just another empty building in a dying part of town. Sure they need to get a handle on the drugs and other illegal activity, but pulling the plug on one of the thriving businesses in a struggling community, c'mon!!!!!!
