Someone should be accountable for this fiasco! When will the citizens of Memphis decide to hold the City Council accountable? Will this go by like the lost floor on the FEDEX forum? Why do companies get 100 year contracts with the city for little tax or $1.00 per year in taxes that the people have to make up the difference for by residential property tax, and also why do Businesses get lower or commercial rates from MLGW? Does Memphis continue to need jobs that don't pay enough because they can justify lower wages due to a skewed lower "cost of living" rate here? I think the whole city is run upside down. Corporate interest control this city - while politicians say - they need the tax write offs and incentives to draw jobs? Are we falling for that line again? People look for new candidates that have truth still in their makeup - dump all or most of the present political establishment through out West TN.
Looking forwards to hearing John Edwards - he is the leader on the issues most important to middle and lower income families. Universal Health Care, College for those who want it, Raising minimum wage to $9.50, Supporting Unions and the american workers, Withdrawal from Iraq just for a few.
Memphis Politicians - in action! Is anyone taking notes - this is great for a novel. Would anyone believe it?
It is a shame, that W TN still has to over come such political nonsense.
Memphis needs major cleaning up!
