This may be Director Lipscomb's worst architectural visualization yet. I'll call it "Skokie First National Bank, Midland Branch".
Hurray for Gloria Baxter!
Once Southland stupidly banned MATA, a care-less scheduler at MATA probably decided that they should just drop off in the new location so the bus can quickly take the first overpass (here, http://goo.gl/maps/9Qoav) back to Memphis rather than the overpass much further west of the Park (here, http://goo.gl/maps/V6N9o).
I should add that design may include Bruce's idea, which means building and scheduling open-field events (e.g., Redbirds) for the evening, even if it means the kids are up late.
I would say it is design. 50+ years ago, the south decided that air-conditioning was the only defense we needed against the summer extremes, and began forgetting all natural remedies -- the best being deep shade. We spend millions of man hours and man dollars mowing huge lawns and paving huge parking lots, to keep the shade from returning, then spend even more to overcool ourselves as we escape from these wretchedly unnatural landscapes.
I'm hoping that the low canopied Greenline will be as much landscaping inspiration as it has been a recreational and lifestyle revelation.
Does "additional work must be completed" mean unplanned, unbudgeted additional work or, work that has been long planned and budgeted, but just not completed because the project is still under construction?
M: wrong and wrong. I've studied both extensively.
