Clicked post before I was done. I'm not sure of the source, but I'm pretty sure I picked it up after an interview with Ralph Emery.

Jones has always been a favorite. He may not have had the guitar chops of or songwriting skills of Willie or Hag, or the showmanship of Ray Price, but he was still a giant among the few giants left standing. When he sang a song it stayed sung.
