This is so great you are doing this again. SO FUCKING GREAT
No one cares about painting anymore.
A wonderful use of OK's state legislature's time.
Thanks. And people think I just sit down and write. It takes time to be brilliant.
What makes you think I am not already a failed, jaded artist? The last thing you would want is an art professor. They are the most jaded of us all!
And everything Cory did was "great" (I wish I knew better words)
I agree with what Cory says about ruining the architecture of the North side of the building. If anything, the mural is an advertisement for everything in Overton Square, except for Bari. That is unfortunate.
Well, Leandra Urrutia, that is unfortunate. I do not remember a conversation or email from you about this, much less two, and especially at the event. I do not recall seeing you there, but, this is no big deal as I was only there for a very short time. I got the information from Jill Wissmiller. She has been sending me information about her and her students events for years to submit to media outlets on her behalf. She did state the name was MacArthur Park, as well as describing it as a "Roller Skating Disco Opera," which is what I am referring to in the above list of notable visual art events of the year. It is a great description for a project. I will go and find her original email to me and see about changing the online article to reflect any unintentional omissions. Thank you for reading my art features and taking the time to comment on the Memphis Flyer website.
This post was only about the openings this weekend. But thank you for reading the blog and taking time to share your thoughts. I will be sure to go check out the Artist Link exhibit.
