Yo cool. I couldn't have said it better, myself.
Anyone who doesn't think McCain is McSame is a complete and total dumbass. After all McSame has voted with Bush 95% of the time. 95% Westend. And you are reassured by that! OMG!!!!!
Westendgirl - what "reassurance" of experience are you getting? If you mean we should be reassured we will get another eight years of taking up the ass from McCain just like we did Bush, then you, lady, are a dumbass. There's nothing reassuring about knowing we are going to get more war, more debt, more crumbling infrastructure, more foreclosures, more unemployment, more people with no healthcare, more crime, more jobs going to China, more surging gas prices, more environmental disasters, and more dumbasses populating the country thinking "it's all good."
good points, dee2. what is more troubling about john branston's commentary is his complete denegration of the superintendent position. would he refer to fred smith of fedex as hnic? would he call a bank president the hnic? mr. branston failed to give the people who are being chosen for a very important, very professional position of leadership in this town any respect whatsoever. he basically reduced being superintendent of one of america's largest school systems to prison warden. does he honestly expect anyone, most especially the students in the system, to respect this person as a person who is educated and professional? mr. branston, at the very least, owes the city and the mcs a very contrite apology. mr. vanwinegarden's defense does not remove the impression that has been made by mr. branston. the flyer editors should also apologize for the demeaning, degrading comparison.
interesting analogy. our tom toms are going to direct us to the voting booths to ensure a landslide for obama.
glad to see the flyer's mr. baker is live in iowa to give some desperately needed perspective as all the c.a. will do is print warmed over three day old crap. great article, jackson. although huckabee may pull off a win, i think romney will ultimately carry the day. for the democrats, there may not be a winner.
smchris - i hope you are wrong, but fear you are right. your remark about the msm continuing to prop up this new form of fascism is a very important point. the nyt has just hired arch neo-con william kristol. does anyone think he will have one single ounce of objectivity? his father and mother were 'godparents' of the neo-conservative movement that began back when fdr was president. kristol hates any form of progressive gov't. it's in his dna.
and newsweek has hired karl rove, who will work diligently to rewrite history and reinvent himself and gwb. knowing all of this, it's hard to imagine the nightmare really ending. but like the hopeful ms. delbrocco, i try to remain optimistic.
