Re: “The Rant

That's what Haslam gets for pandering to these people. You can't win with them, not ever. Nobody can live up to their Standard of Conservatism. They can't even live up to it themselves.

Re: “Cohen's Example

Gloria Allred is an opportunist quack, and hardly representative of the views of most people. As for the verbal rapist Del Mar, he's just an example of the problem, and the right wing attack on women. Too bad for the Republicans, we can still vote.

Re: “Cohen's Example

GW - Someone is paying for his show. If you don't like what he's saying, you can still campaign to get him off the air. If enough people cancel their HBO and make it clear that he is the reason, you can have the same effect as the advertisers pulling out. The market will rule it. But that also means if enough people still watch, you won't have an effect. When he was pulled off the air the first time, it was a network channel, though I don't remember which one.

This is the beloved free market at work. Love it or leave it.

Re: “Cohen's Example

Why is Fluke's age relevant? Is it somehow okay to slander a woman if she's over the age of 25? Right wing, please explain.

Re: “The Rant

Rick Perry is no Dick Cheney. As evil as Dick Cheney is, he's not a moron. Perry has the brain of lobotomized George W. Bush and the morals of Dick Cheney. A truly dangerous combination. Fortunately, he can't keep his mouth shut about Social Security.

Re: “Discrimination Protections for Gays Voted Down in County Commission Committee

I don't know what these people are, but they are not Christian. Jesus never told you to hate anybody, and make no mistake, discrimination IS hate. Hate is not a Christian value. It never was and never will be. So you can either live a Christian life, or you can hate. The choice is yours.

Re: “Tinker Gets Nod Again from Emily's List

Back when they attacked Cohen in 06, I told Emily's List in no uncertain terms that they'd never get a dime from me. This endorsement just strengthens that resolve. I choose my donations carefully, and by each individual candidate. There aren't really any PACs I trust. Even Feingold's "Progressive Patriots" sent me an email suggesting Ronnie Musgrove was a progressive deserving of my money. Musgrove, who has no regard for separation of church and state, deserves MY money? No thanks! The same goes for Tinker. She doens't care much about Memphis, she just sees Congress as a good gig. She's a union buster and that's all we know about her. She won't take a stand on issues. She just thinks everyone should vote for her because she's a black female. This is not a black/white issue. She'll have to do better than that. This about issues, and Tinker won't take a strong stand on anything. That's one reason I can't support her. Another reason I can't support her is that she is asking me to fire Steve Cohen and I can't see any reason in the world to do that. She has given me no evidence that she would be a better Congressperson. We know she's not a progressive. She is against gay marriage and against abortion. We know she's getting a lot of money from Republicans. I have no reason to trust her neither should any Democrat.
