While Coachella may be more expensive, the lineup is worlds better than Music Fest. I guess $100 is a great price when you're getter much worse music, but in the end, to each his own.
Each year, this festival becomes more and more of a waste of time. I can't recall a time where I was actually excited for Memphis In May, which is disappointing since my birthday is in May. The bookers of this slop fest continue to put on washed up acts (i.e. Arrested Development, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Joan Jett), predictable acts (Flyleaf, Disturbed,Project Pat, and Finger Eleven) and then try to cover it all up with star "names" (Aretha Franklin and Michael Macdonald). The lineup for this fest is pretty sad. This show continues to live inside of the top 40 radio box. I'd love to see the day the this fest shuns the boring radio rock and radio rap and looks elsewhere for acts. Until then this show will continue to be a living testament to the sheltered music tastes of the south.
